Three Fort Bragg
soldiers suspected of killing their wives this summer were
given an anti-malaria drug associated with aggression and
mental problems.
What drug were
the soldiers given and what are the symptoms?
Some of the symptoms
of Lariam (also called mefloquine) include:
- Aggression
- Depression
- Paranoia
- Hallucinations
- Suicidal thinking
The Army and the
Food and Drug Administration have both approved the drug.
The families and friends of the soldiers are questioning the
safety of Lariam and the possible role it might have played
in the deaths of the soldier's wives.
