Important Information for Women Considering Breast Implants

At least 15 percent of silicone breast implants will rupture within three to 10 years after they were implanted, according to a study. The study aimed to determine how often silicone breast implants rupture, as implant ruptures tend to vary with type of implant and length of implantation

Researchers also found that the older the implant gets, the greater the risk of rupture.

Dr. MercolaDr. Mercola's Comments:

Despite the many risks associated with breast implants, over 200,000 women obtain them each year. Breast implants are a huge fraud being committed on American women as these cherished breast implants may cost women their insurance, their health, their beauty, their vitality, their families, their careers and, too often, even their lives.

Some of the sickest women I have seen were suffering from a silicone-implant-induced immune dysfunction. Breast implants are clearly very dangerous. Silicone from implants is a complex chemical that can have very significant and devastating consequences on the immune system.

This study shows that 15 percent of silicone implants will rupture within 10 years of implanting them. However, an earlier FDA study showed that nearly 70 percent had ruptured and other studies show a 90 percent chance of rupture within 20 years.

It sure seems to me that it would be far safer, easier, and less expensive to use EFT, a psychological acupressure technique, to address the underlying reasons why the women are seeking the implants in the first place.

Many women choose to have breast implants because they feel pressure from mainstream media to adhere to a particular body image, or they have a distorted image of their own body. If you are struggling with body image issues EFT can help.

You can start with the free 25-page EFT manual for more information. However, most of the time women with this problem will require professional assistance. You can use Dr. Patricia Carrington's guidelines on how to find an EFT therapist who you can work with, and can also consult my EFT Series on DVD or VHS for further EFT instruction.
