Getting a lot of exercise appears to cut the risk of blood vessel
disease in half, leading researchers to suggest that all doctors
recommend regular exercise to patients to prevent and treat
cardiovascular disease.
Exercise, which also lowers the risk of chronic conditions
such as diabetes, depression and certain types of cancer,
may be powerful enough to lower the risk of death as much
as drugs like beta-blockers and aspirin.
Researchers suggest that doctors get regular exercise themselves
in order to set a good example for their patients.
