Dentists’ Logo Used to Promote Coca-Cola Product

The logo of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry appeared on advertisements for a new type of bottled water, "Fluoride to Go," which is marketed by Coca-Cola and food giant, Danone.

Critics are pointing out a potential conflict of interests, saying that the logo could be seen as an endorsement for any of Coca-Cola’s products, including cavity-causing sodas. The Academy stated that they do not endorse the water, and Coca-Cola said that the logo does not "imply endorsement."

THE Classic of Natural Medicine:
Read More & Order

Isn't this a marriage made in heaven? It’s quite a tragedy that a respected dentists’ association would want to get mixed up with Coca-Cola’s promotions.

Even though their logo is not on soda, it is bad enough to recommend fluoridated water. Fluoride is not the answer to cavity prevention. Dr. John Lee, who passed away last month, was one of the leaders in helping us realize fluoride for cavity prevention is a myth, and a dangerous one at that.

If you really want to know how to prevent cavities, I would strongly recommend that you read Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, by Dr. Weston Price. Dr. Price, one of the most prominent dentists at the turn of the century, wondered why so many children were getting cavities. He realized that it was due to the introduction of processed foods. So he traveled all over the world and documented how the introduction of processed food severely damaged the teeth. Even if you don't read the entire book, the pictures do a wonderful job of telling the story. The book was written in 1920 and is still very true today.

I believe that if kids are weaned from breast milk onto raw milk and minimize their consumption of grains, sugars, fruit juices and sodas, it is highly likely they will never acquire any cavities.
