Tracking Junior With Microchips

Children in Mexico may soon be implanted with microchips to help deter kidnappers. Solusat, a Mexican company, is launching the product as a type of emergency ID for children.

The microchip, which has been named the VeriChip, is the size of a grain of rice and is injected under the child’s skin during an outpatient procedure.

Distributors hope the device would help to locate missing children, but critics say the device could easily be removed by kidnappers, and tracking a child with this type of device could violate their civil liberties.

Dr. Mercola Dr. Mercola's Comments:

With Halloween just around the corner, many parents likely have their child’s safety in mind as they head out for trick-or-treating. Longtime readers of the newsletter will know that I wrote about this chip last year and even posted a picture of it. Some Christians are concerned about this chip and believe that Revelations 13:16 is being manifest.

While I am a huge technology fan, this is one device that I will avoid. Although these types of implantable computer chips certainly offer many advantages from a convenience standpoint, it’s important to really reflect on the implications of implanting a trackable device, full of personal information, into your own, or your child’s, body.
