| Studies
show that it is not the alcohol in red wine that is beneficial
to your health. What are beneficial are the abundant quantities
of polyphenolic compounds that are found even in red wine that
has been dealcoholized.
The study indicated that dealcoholized red wine, which contains
polyphenolic compounds, is capable of decreasing atherosclerosis,
as were red and white wines.. Researchers concluded that when
consumed moderately, dealcoholized red wine may decrease atherosclerosis--the
hardening of the walls of the arteries--which may interfere
with blood flow.
