About Me
I am 86 years, naturally thin & agile, maintain a vigorous exercise schedule including a 45 minute early walk 4 days a week, a one hour yoga class once a week, a one hour osteo exercise class MWF, & I work out on various machines during those same mornings. I take no medications, excluding Latanoprost eye drops, but I do take many supplements under the guidance of a fine chiropractor, who also has 22 years of experience working in nutrition. Hopefully I eat a healthy diet: some fruits at breakfast, trying to stay w/in Dr. Mercola's suggested fructose limit; fresh, but generally lightly cooked vegies; always a green salad, & often raw nuts, also fish & chicken about once a week. But I do eat steel cut oatmeal w/yogurt, soaked almonds or walnuts, rice or ww pasta & bread & sometimes other grains of which Dr. M. does not approve. Also I enjoy a glass of organic raw goat sometimes every day & try NOT to eat too many organic raw cheeses. Plus I enjoy a small piece of the darkest chocolate I can find every few days, sometimes even Dagoba baking chocolate. And since Dr. M. has now endorsed coffee, I love an espresso every now & then. Oh yes, I also enjoy a glass of red wine whenever we have pasta.
Sadly, my husband of 85 is a heart patient who has always had a weight problem & isn't as particular about what he eats, although he tries. I'm a grandmother who, sadly, sees her daughter & 2 beautiful granddaughters only a couple of times a year, because they live in Canada. It's embarassing to write so much about myself.
