About Me

I have been active in the mental health field for over 30 years. I trained as a psychoanalyst, but not in the classical Freudian tradition. My mentor of two decades was interested in psychosis and cancer, which he considered to be related in some way, and developed a technique for "curing" schizophrenia. Naturally, he was ostracized and called a quack and his "cures" were dismissed by other physicians, saying the diagnosis had been wrong. I learned and practiced this technique for a very long time.

As I became more experienced and trained others, I began to go my own way, with a strong leaning away from the medical training that had been the backbone of my discipline and an interest in nutrition and the  human organism's self-healing. In recent years I see no dinfference between mind and body, as they are part of one system. This takes me out of the mainstream, which is an irony as I was already a "qiack therapist" I developed my own theories and techniques. I now stand alone, with no affiliations and some colleagues who are sympathetic with my new direction.

I cannot use the title of "psychoanalyst" for what I am doing now. I no longer relate to the concepts of illness, diesease or disorder, and therefore I cannot practice any type of therapy. I am using a temporary if awkward way to refer to my role with clients: Mattional Facilitator. I believe wellness to be a normal, natural state, and that all we need besides good nutrition is good emotioinal nutrition, in healthful contact with other people. Healing is catalyzed in countless ways and healers must have talent in addition an open-minded training, free of dogma, with room for variations in each person.

I admire Dr. Mercola and this site. I don't agree with everything said here, but it seems he appreciates different points of view. I am an accomplished pianist. I am married for 36 years and am the mother of two children, both of whom are pursuing professional careers in music. I have studied alternative health and nutrition with several teachers over the years and have accumulated a wealth of information about wellness in general, much of it through private study. I consider myself to be an expert on parenting, I also have great success with children and adolescents experiencing difficulties, as well as adults.  I don't care what people think or say about me, unless they know me personally, and then I care very deeply. I am passionate about life and living beings and about everything I do. I make many mistakes, take big risks and in so doing I invent new ways of assisting people.

"Organic disease is psychologically reversible." I was taught this, and to an extent I stand by it, although I now see it in a different light. I am searching for a more accurate substitute for what is called the placebo effect, because whatever that is, I believe it to be crucial to any sort of healing. Healers can facilitate the self-healing of individuals. I think nutritional counseling needs development, because as we all know, many people know what they should and shouldn't eat, but cannot do what they know they should, or stop doing what they shouldn't. I believe that studying the possible reasons for this in each person will lead to a way of intervening that enables them to take better care of themselves.

I lecture and run seminars in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where I was awarded an honorary doctorate from the East European Institute for Psychoanalysis.  The Russians had no psychotherapy or psychiatry of any kind until the fall of the Soviet regime and now they are hungry for training, and they are critical learners. They decide what they feel to be right and they work very hard to learn more. They have been studying my methods and those of my colleagues for the past ten years. I am currently superrvising Russian professionals using video conferencing software.

Note: I rarely post on this site, and I just noticed that I have a "dissenter's badge." As i do not bookmark my posts, I have no idea how I got this and it feels rather like The Scarlet Letter. I said I don't care what people think of me, but I do not appreciate being marked  as someone whose posts should be read with caution. I lack the time to research the matter. The only thing I can think of is that I object to Dr Mercola's marketing strategies, and it is clear to me that this site is run to make money and also to support his views. I may have stated this somewhere.

Other than that my most important activity here has been to use it as a resrouce for investigating the work of oncologist, Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski, because I found it to be very helpful in educating me about his work, and in forming my now VERY strong opinion that he is a mdeical visionary doing wonderful work that must be supported. I am also now convinced that the FDA is dangerously corrupt. I applaud Dr. Mercola's efforts on Burzynski's behalf, and I can see that he may not himself be in full agreemnet with him, because Dr. Burzynski is a mainstream oncologist in essence. What a confusing world we live in.
