About Me
I have been a health advocate since 1995. I must admit I have done a 180 in my views since I started (soy and grains were the key to good health once upon a time), but my goal of seeking better health for myself and others has not changed. Science must be our guide regardless of the answers it yields and one must always be prepared to adapt to new evidence (it is especially important not to confuse correlation with causation and be skeptical of any advice that does not delineate this distinction). One must also realize that governments are a danger to our health freedoms despite even the most well meaning intentions to the contrary (let alone the outright lies and distortions propagated by the food and drug industry oligarchies). The market must be left free in all aspects of health, just as in any other business avenue, or corrupt and unjustly skewed systems are sure to flourish (as has happened under virtually every government in world history, and indeed has occurred with the current US government to such a point that comprehension of it all is nearly impossible; and as such, tyranny is upon the people with most of them unaware).
I make it my goal to stay as informed as possible on many health aspects, and Mercola.com is truly one of the best places to gain health knowledge. Mercola takes a fair approach but at the same time is not afraid to call out errors and wrong-doing when he sees it. And his motto 'take control of your health' is arguably the most important belief and action philosophy that people seem reluctant to adopt. We cannot just assume doctors will do what is in our best interests because of their own limited knowledge and the more troubling conflicts of interest bewteen big pharma, the sick care industry, the AMA and their personal income. That is why WE the patient, consumer, lay person, etc., must demand better of our doctors, researchers, scientists and public office holders and hold them accountable for their actions (yet more government regulation is a hopeless dead end that will wind up doing the opposite of what it intended, as seems to happen just about every time). Be proactive. Don't just do what you are told. Get on the Internet and dig around for what is really going on or for different opinions and views. And then spread the word to your friends and family so we can hopefully begin to reverse the unsustainble trend that health and healthcare is currently in.
