I've always been interested-to-fascinated by health and nutrition issues. Starting in the mid-70s, I worked for several years in a health food store, which gave me many more opportunities to hear and read about new nutritional information long before it became known to either the general public or the local medical practitioners. Eleven years ago, I found out I had stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I managed to get through it by chemotherapy, then a stem-cell transplant. It wasn't pleasant, but I'm over it now, although I've gotten some damage to some organs and as a result of the treatments. Two years ago, I found out I had Type 2 Diabetes. I've been taking medication, but have mostly been controlling it through diet and nutrition alone, as I'm not able to exercise much, due to back damage from the cancerous tumors years ago. It is my hope that I can completely reverse the diabetes using what I know already, and what I hope to learn from this site.
