I am extremely interested in natural health options, cleansing and detoxing the body, and getting back to my optimal health status that I had when I was younger. I have been overweight/obese for over a decade now and I am tired of being tired, and being heavy and uncomfortable and not being able to even sit in normal chairs anymore. That's what really sent me over the edge recently...not being able to fit in a chair that everyone else could, even people who were heavy...they just weren't as big as me! So now thanks to Dr. Mercola, who I have subscribed to for many years now to learn about health and nutrition, I saw the Dr. Mercola Peak Fitness post on facebook and started reading and watching the expercise videos. I actually dusted off my half inflated "Resista-ball" as Darin calls it, and inflated it all the way today and did some "back maintenance" and streching and crunches for the first time in years! I had been in my 4th car accident almost 3 years ago now, and my back has two herniated discs because of it and that has caused me to gain extra weight and inches because it hurts to do most anything. I am still in pain daily, but I want to do something and the exercise ball helps keep pressure off my sensitive back...so I started with that. I used to be very active as a kid and teanager and even into my early twenties...but now that I am 34 and really getting big so something has to change! I am so depressed because of the way I look and feel and the lack of activities I can do because of my size. I bought Dr. Mercola's book years ago and have follwed another cleansing system in the past which helped me lose a lot of weight and inches, but due to my situation and then finances at the time I could no longer afford the good stuff...so I fell back to the bad foods and bad habits and gained weight back. I am going to get strong again, and fit again and do things again like I used to do like play basketball, swim, walk, bike, hike, ride horses. There's things I plan to do as well that I have never gotten to do like, sky dive, dune buggies, parasail etc. I want to be able to go to the beach again and not be the fat chick hiding under a blanket...lol. So here I go...I wrote the Commitment Sheet for myself as Darin recommended and I plan to walk each day outside (as I have no access to a gym yet), and then keep using my ball to do sit ups and strengthen my back. I guess I'll check back in 6 weeks and update my progress.
