About Me

My mother was diagnosed with hereditary hemochromatosis (iron overload disease) in 1983 and died of complications of this disease in 1999.  In 1998, I founded the American Hemochromatosis Society (AHS) a 501c3 non profit health organization to support and educate the public and the medical community.  I have dedicated my life to spreading the word about hemochromatosis so that others will not have to go through what my mother and our family did.
