Nicole.74 Look up Prinzmetal angina: it happens to ;people that eat a lot of fat at one time and this causes the arteries to constrict suddenly and cause a heart attack or angina. The problem of diagnosing it are two; 1- the doctor has to know about it and have it in their differential diagnosis brain: 2- If the person has angina chest pain and comes into the ER but the pain goes away before the EKG the EKG will be most likely normal. It is in the history and sometimes heart enzymes need to be done. It is an interesting "fat " phenomena. I have had a few in the ER but also I lost my partner and friend who just suddenly died and the autopsy showed nothe but a slightly fatty heart. I am sure the way he ate that it was a Prinzmetal syndrome cause.
