The Underlying Cause | 09-16-2009
Despite a healthy lifestyle from my youth onwards, I developed health problems in my 40's. I have mentioned them here and there on Dr. Mercola over the years and this is an update for those who may be wondering. I was diagnosed with a number of auto-immune diseases for which my doctors prescribed drugs, insisting I had to take them, "or I would die." I refused, finding alternative methods that worked as I continued to search for the "underlying cause" of my dis-ease.
My tenacity was rewarded. Earlier this year I had a genetic test that revealed I have 2 genes for gluten intolerance. That I have 2 means both my parents had at least one and all my siblings and children will have at least one as well. This explains the prevalence of cancer, diabetes, asthma, thyroid disease, etc. in our family. My health and energy levels are amazing and all my symptoms are slowly disappearing. My older children who had already displayed health problems have reported phenomenal results since going gluten free.
Let this be an encouragement to all of you to keep searching for that "underlying cause" behind your health issues.
