About Me

I am a registered psychiatric nurse working with learning disabled people who have severely challenging behaviour. I have practiced since qualifying in 1978 and am currently studying towards a diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling. I have always harboured natural doubts regarding certain medical orthodoxies and have clashed a number of times over the years with some medical colleagues but have also worked with other wonderful examples eg Dr Lachlan Campbell (Maudsley Hospital) and Professor Gwyn Roberts (Ida Darwin Hospital, Cambridge). I was recently dismissed for complaining about the abusive repeated use of seclusion at Roseberry Park Hospital, Middlesbrough.
