About Me

Arrrghhh!  Me Grand Kids call me Grandpa Pirate.  I'm really not a pirate, and I don't play one on TV.  But, from time to time, I've been known to show a little Pirattitude.  Aaaarrrghhh!

Anyway, I am 57...soon to be 58.  I'm married to one of the most beautiful goddesses on planet earth.  I have three sons, two of whom have moved away from "home".  One of them still lives close by.  One son is a military career guy...still has just over 3 more years before he retires.  One manages a Winco store in Utah.  The one who lives close to us is a hardworking guy who decided to marry a local gal and build a life here in Idaho.  We have six grand kids, 2 boys and 4 girls.  The oldest is our granddaughter who is going on 11.  The youngest is a grandson who is getting ready to turn 3.

I am self employed, entrepreneur.  My wife is an artist, sculptor.  We live on 40 acres in the Magic Valley of Southern Idaho.  We call our place Meadow Star.  We do try to be health conscious.  We grow a lot of our own food, and do so organically.  The only draw back to our situation is that our water supply is tainted by area agriculture practices.  We tried to go deep with a well, but after spending thousands of dollars, we never hit a good, clean source of water.  We ended up going back to shallow well water, which is contaminated with nitrates and bacteria that make it unpottable.

But, we love the rural atmosphere and we value our privacy and the ability to SEE...I mean, really SEE the stars and planets at night in a pristine sky unblemished by light pollution.  So, to have several benefits to living where we do, we do have a couple of drawbacks, (1) water issue and (2) we get stranded in snow drifts in the winter time.
