Not sure exactly how this reply stuff works. That was my first ever reply to an article. However, assuming you have no health issues, brown rice, oatmeal, sweet potato... They should be eaten with good protein and good fats. The glycemic reaction is muted when all three macro nutrients are consumed at once. When the body senses fats and protein it releases cck, which slows the breakdown of the carbs and moderates the increase in sugar. Eat only carbs and you will be hungry in one hour as your body quickly converts to blood sugar eliciting an insulin response which wipes out the blood sugar and ghrelin kicks in to promote hunger. As a rule, I am fine with eating organics, non GMO's and whatever other whole foods people choose to believe in. Through experience with various people, I am pretty sure that fructose, even in fruits causes an increase in triglycerides. My self, I added an extra apple a day in the afternoon for three months, my pre apple tri's were 59, 72 days later, they were 139. A customer of mine is a tri athlete who ate loads of fruits for his carbs, historical problems with tri's above 170... Four months later, we cut body fat to 13percent from 22 percent and tri's dropped to 59. First time since he has been regularly tested that his tri's were below 150....even with medicine.

HI, White rice doesn't hurt me as much as organic brown rice...but it is lower in nutrients. Gluten (wheat/barley/rye...oats may also hurt). GMO corn/soy/canola oil and now wheat may hurt the gut lining. I can only have lemon/lime/cranberry/rhubarb for fruit. All other fruit hurts me. Best wishes.

Hi, I can't have coconut oil, olive oil or flax, tumeric and other things that many healthy people do. I eat no gluten/dairy/soy/sugar and take vitamins/good oils and take LDN. My profile explains my diet etc. Best wishes.
