About Me
I'm 73 years old. I'm a retired technical publications manager from the
corporate world. My areas of expertise include mangement, graphic design, writing and editing
technincal/business publications. I've been retired for about 13 years, after working at my
final job for 23 years until the age of 55. I was married for 16 years. We adopted our only child, who
was killed in a drunk driving car crash in 1986 when she was just under 18. I have been been homebound
since 2003 because of back problems and an ankle break that created more problems. I have
a major gripe with all the doctors I've seen since before turning 30, which is very long time!
My prediction is that the next 10 to 15 years will produce a drastic change in basic "family care" docs,
who will need to become more knowledgeable about the role nutrition plays in overall health or
simply die on the vine. I find
that internists, primarily, are ignorant in the extreme. "Health" care is a wild misnomer, as there
is absolutely no thought of health involved in the so-called care. TV (the idiot box) is bringing
information to the masses. It is much more accessible to many more people than the computer. It requires nothin but a TV and the abilty to hear and see. Dr. Oz, for example, and the wonderful programs that are presented all over PBS on nutrition, primarily,
are going to change the picture completely in the USA. Dr. Mercola (of course I've seen him
on TV) and Dr. Oz should form
a TV alliance. It's not enough for Oz to have Mercola on his show occasionally. I'd like to see
it everyday. Just think: Oz and Mercola (or Mercola and Oz) dazzling millions daily
with their individual and combined expertise, selling products, bringing like-minded people to
everyone through lively interaction with their guests. It would evevntually (and quickly) become the show to watch and learn. Hey, it could be bigger than Oprah! Remember her? It would soon quickly result in all these questionable
doctors running for the hills! Make it happen. Please! I'm fed up with all of them.
