My personal philosophy and goal is to achieve balance, through self awareness and assessment, using logic but guided toward what feels good and makes me happy and away from what doesn't feel good or makes me unhappy. The best approach I've found for this is to take all things in moderation, including at times, moderation itself. Learning and adaptation come from pushing things sometimes and some of my most productive and memorable experiences came from getting close to the edge. But time spent at the extremes needs to be balanced with rest and reflection and order. My highest values are health, family, and security. I probably fit the cliché of being a jack of all trades but master of none. I don't regard that as a weakness however, and it is consistent I believe with my philosophy grounded in balance and moderation. It also bolsters my values of health and security. My approach to fitness has evolved to include PACE concepts, but increasingly adding movements that seems natural and increase athleticism, all within a framework of running, swimming and weightlifting. My approach to eating lends toward high quality protein sources, with raw milk, keifer and fermented salsas, olives and kruat, along with some salads, steamed or raw vegetables, and blueberry/strawberry banana smoothies and a few almonds, walnuts or salba seeds rotated throughout the week. But alas, I don't get crazy about eliminating all ice cream, pizza, beer, wine, coffee or other treats in moderation. The main thing I need to work on is my financial balance, which is currently out of balance, but trending in the right direction. I am looking forward to completing that piece of the puzzle, as that will lead to less stress and enhance family and security.
