I am a 44 year old attorney from Minnesota. I am currently disabied due to complications from bulimia/anxiety/depression. I have a whole "team" of medical doctors, therapists and dieticians whom I've been seeing on a regular basis for over a year, with minimal results. I have been hospitalized several times for these conditions, had hours of therapy, etc., yet nothing seems to be helping. Earlier this week I was sent home from a therapy session and asked to consider two options that are left: 1) taking MAOI medication, which, as I understand it, is an extremely dangerous and restrictive form of drug therapy (e.g. it comes with many dietary restrictions, which, if not followed, can cause blood pressure to spike resulting in instant death); or 2) ECT (electroconvolsive therapy - "shock treatment").
My husband, a chiropractor, and I are both horrified at either choice and will not be pursuing either. I know the answer doesn't lie in a bottle of pills, yet I'm not getting any better. I am trying to get an appointment at Dr. Mercola's clinic for a complete evaluation to see if they can offer something else that is more natural and less terrifying. Wish me luck!!!
