Hi tahoe 1780,

My first suggestion would be to take the cat off of the steroids as weight gain is one of the major side effects of steroid use.  Then start feeding your cat raw food and maybe add a little yogurt and fiber in a non-grain form.  Also add cod liver oil or fish oil to food.  Vacuum your floors frequently and wash pets food & water bowls with soap and water often.   If you are using a flea collar on your cat you may may want to start giving it a little garlic powder on its food along with a little brewers yeast for the fleas and dip in a natural herbal dip instead, as the collar (or chemical house spray) may actually be the source of allergies.  You can switch to a collar with eucalyptus, pennyroyal or citronella oils as an alternative.  You can soak a fabric collar in these oils if you can't find them in the pet store.  Hope this helps.
