I love these exciting stories. Was it not Dr. Oliver Sacks, who wrote about them. There are other incredible people, whose eyes for example are as sharp as those of hawks. I met once a young man who after a traffic accident could hear about 20 times sharper than normal people. He was in terrible pain because of the normal noise around him.

Zecharia Sitchin wrote in his books about the incredible Anunnaki, who created from ape-eggs and Anunnaki-sperm our species of homo sapiens sapiens, which would combine Darwinism with creationism. Those Anunnaki were obviously much more intelligent than our apemen-ancestors. Much more research will be needed to really tell us, where we came from and what might be possible for us to be. As Einstein said: Human beings only use 10 % of their brain capacities.

You see, there is still hope. .....

Just wanting to let everyone know that Daniel Tammet has written a book - a memoir of his life. The book came out in January 2007 and the title is "Born on a Blue Day : Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant"! (The ISBN-13 number is: 9781416535072.) And, yes, Daniel DID write the book himself - no ghost writer/co-writer etc! I have read it and it is an excellent book. It goes into his life in way more detail and is absolutely fascinating and inspirational!!! I borrowed it from the library, but I think that I am going to buy it anyway so that I can reread it whenever I want - including far into the future. Anybody that enjoyed the video will REALLY enjoy his book. And, anyone that was inspired by the video, will REALLY be inspired by his book. Enjoy!

Daniel has a direct link to the higher mind which is located in the heart region of the chest. The "heart-mind" "thinks" in images, patterns, numerology, and energy as Daniel does. This is a god-like mind that we all have, but it sealed, and usually lies dormant until serious proper meditation and enlightenment is realized. The seizures Daniel had as a child blocked his access to his normal mind, and because he had a previous life as a trained mystic, he found his "other source of intelligence" automatically in this life. Fantastic, awe inspiring, sensational! I loved every bit of the movie. It's nice to think that we "all" have the potential of Daniel, but folks, let's face it, HE is a genius, period. Some individuals, like Daniel, are just unique and so far ahead of their time that they may always be poorly understood or even misunderstood. I do not believe that the consensus was that Daniel is autistic, only that he has a few of the typical autistic charateristics (such as obession and fascination, in his case with numbers) but not the other necessary elements to make the diagnosis (such as social dysfunction or other mental handicap). It was beautiful to get a small but truly amazing glimpse into his world and how he experiences this world, and I felt honored that he allowed us in!

Amazing film. But why do they assume it's his brain that is so smart? Isn't that just like the one gene theory? I read a book called the "holographic universe" and it discribed a young man who had no brain, only fluid inside his head, and he did just fine, went to college and so forth.

I have a feeling that the scientists are starting with a wrong assumption and they are not going to discover anything of value. They should stop looking at intelligence as a brain function. It's probably a network phenomona of some sort.

The editor in me (and former British resident) has to point out an error in your tag line. The phrase is actually "gob-smacking", not "god-smacking". Gob is a reference to your noggin, and I think this is meant in that "I could have had a V8" kind of way.

I'm sorry; I view that method of the not-doing of math essential. It has been of tremendous value to me in my work as a cashier and auditor throughout the years. The only reason I don't complete complex equations very often in my head "effortlessly" is lack of confidence or need.
