In study performed by King’s College in London, scientists found that the more moles a person had, the more likely their DNA was to have properties that fight off aging. I have very thin skin. However, until recent years, my diet consisted of about 20% protein, 5% vegetables/fruits and 75% SUGAR. I have a naturally high metabolism so am not overweight, so never thought twice about eating an entire carton of ice cream (during one movie) or eating a 2 pound bag of candy bars over the course of a single day. Perhaps I am paying the price of a lifetime of high insulin levels.

It is good PR for those of us who have always been self conscious about having so many moles that friends joke about being able to play connect the dots with them. Please still be sure to monitor your moles for significant changes in color, size, and shape as this may be an indication of skin cancer.

But I have a big one approximately in the region of my right kidney, that I was contemplating to get rid of after I wean, using the product called "wartmolevanish". Anyone heard about this product?

The fact that some people have moles, and some people live longer than others, may be totally unrelated.

I have gorgeous legs, no veins showing, nicely developed calf muscles, at an age when most women have legs like road maps; wanna measure my telomeres?

re: Do People With Lots of Moles Age Better?

First, great article. I agree with what Dr. Joe says about optimizing your insulin levels, but I wish he would be more specific. The phrase "grains and sugars" is misleading. IOW, many people may think you can eat all the fruits, legumes, etc., that you want, but these can raise insulin levels too.

I agree with the doc that stress and lack of exercise are probably much bigger factors. I think doc Mercola and the products he recommends are great. The only aging thing I am confused about is the grain thing. Dr. Paavola Airola , the great European nutritionist, studied the healthiest and longest living cultures and found that whole grains were a staple of their diets{not denatured grains like most people eat} He stressed that eating whole and not refined grains actually balance insuling levels and prevented both diabetes and hypoglycemia, because of the slow rather than fast release of insulin in repsonse. I eat quinoa and brown rice and don't seem to have any insulin problems and my body mass index is perfect. Glad I could post this and will probably get shot down as a heretic but that is democracy. Flick

I kinda disagree with Dr. Mercola that insulin is the primary cause of aging. I believe TOXINS are the primary cause of aging--drugs, mercury, plastics, etc. I'm sure insulin is way up there in importance, but not as much of a risk as drugs and toxins, and of course radiation.
