With no animal protein, the hearts unclogged in 6 weeks (Dr. Esselstyn's book: Reverse and Prevent Heart Disease), the diabetics stopped insulin (Dr. Neal Barnard's book: Reverse and Prevent Diabetes - by the way, which is caused by a dairy protein), etc. Many of the PCRM doctors are publishers (Milk A-Z) by Cohen, and the doctors who speak bi-weekly on the teleconference Doctors Forum are in the forefront of research: the China Study, which found the Chinese women who have never had cancer because they don't use dairy, for instance. As a nurse practitioner, I regularly experience patients requesting the latest drug being hawked on television commercials. It is difficult to get most people to consider natural therapies or dietary changes as a treatment when the pharmaceutical industry has the power of billions of dollars in revenue as well as the support of the FDA. We must continue to support websites like Dr. Mercola’s which disseminates the truth instead of propaganda that ultimately will make us a sicker society.

I am an MD who practices medical pain management for injured workers who had failed surgeries or who have failed "invasive" pain management treatments. Often they have had multiple attempts at both. I am one of 2 doctors in my community of 225,000 people who prscribes long term opiates for these workers. The reason so few prescribe such medicines is explained in the video I just watched on this website. Money! Surgeons get thousands to perform an operation, whether it is successful or not. Invasive pain doctors get huge amounts for procedures, often repetative, which often don't work. In both cases, patients suffer from the failed attempts to repair something that may do as well without the procedure, if the pain can be managed. In medical pain management, there are no procedures to perform, just the thoughtful application of the principle of "Primum non nocere", which means "First, do no harm." It is not a particularly profitable way to practice medicine, because one gets paid to do procedures, not to think. Therefore, few do it. I come face to face with greed (evil?) for not prescribing long term Non steroidal antiinflamatory drugs (NSAIDS) ro my patients, instead of opiates. Here is why I do not: According to a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine (Wolfe, M, Lichtenstein, D R, Singh, G, Gastrointestinal Toxicity of Non-Steroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs; NEJM 1999: volume 348, number 24; 1888-1899), approximately 16,500 people die yearly from acute GI bleeds as a direct result of being started on NSAIDS by their doctor! (excludes OTC use) The number is explained by those who sell NSAIDS as a small percentage of the total users of NSAIDS. Opiates, which have been used for thousands of years and are well known, remain the safest chronic pain medications.The number of people who die from the medical use of them is miniscule. Yet they are viewed as evil and doctors persecuted for their use. Be careful with their use. I am glad to have a fourm. wdoc

My uncle who lives in the south had *** cancer a few years ago. It got pretty bad, so the doctor he was seeing decided to put him on chemotherapy. It only made things worse. I hear people say chemotherapy will kill cancer dead, but I'm thinking it'll kill the person with cancer as well. My stepmom went to college to become a Naturopathic doctor but didn't have enough money to finish, so she is a microbiologist, but she knows all about healthcare and such. She told him to get off the chemotherapy, and sent him about 300-500 dollars worth of naturopathic medicines and supplements. WIthin a few months he was much better. What I don't understand is how people can clearly see those in medical treatment getting worse, and those taking the natural route getting better, and still blindly follow what their medical doctor tells them is good for them. I'm very thankful for your website here, I'm a new member, and I hope to learn a lot from reading your articles here. Thank you for helping people take control of their health.

Good heavens, people. This is some of the most pathetic and least-provable propaganda I've ever seen. Notice that none of the claims are substantiated and none of them have sources. Example: "50,000 people die every year of cancer from underexposure from the sun." According to whom? Who are these people? Residents of Minsk? People who are stricken with cancer and bedridden, so they never actually go outdoors? Or otherwise healthy people who are following the advice of corrupt and evil MDs? Are those 50,000 deaths worldwide? Only in the US? Where does that number come from? What is the name of the disease that results from too little sun exposure? Is it actually a real disease? And 50,000 people!? That would rank on the top 10 leading causes of death in this country ... and yet I've never even heard of it? Great pictures of corpses being covered up with sheets and babies' heads covered in blood behind the text. Gimme a break. This is pure propaganda, and not very good propaganda at that. My high-schooler has written more convincing papers on Bigfoot than this paranoid hack does in this video. Maybe "conventional medicine" is screwed up, but this video certainly doesn't prove it. It offers unfounded opinions disguised poorly as facts. If you're going to take control of your health, at least start with facts, not propaganda.

P.S. I followed the money as this video instructed. I found myself looking at an ad for the Cocoa Casava bar, which was linked to this Web page.

Been there, done that (trustingly swallowed prescriptions from my M.D.--then lost 3 weeks off work from side effects, plus got a cough I couldn't get rid of.) Dumped the prescriptions (over 2 mos. period for safety's sake), switched to raw fruits & veggies @ local farmer's market, switched to organic farm- raised chicken & beef & wild caught fish & sprouted grains bread; nixed any food that comes in a box, & take orange flavored cod liver oil, plus manage to walk a few blocks daily & ,Have a daily stalk of celery--my cholesterol as dropped 36 points, lost the cough, lost 18 pounds, & last bloodpressure reading was 142/68. (My target had been 160/75. Comment from my flabber-gasted M.D. "Just keep on doing whatever you're doing, it's working o.k."

A great scare video about the health care system, but, being the skeptic that I am, I am concerned that this is simply an overstated case designed to advertise through fear the selling of someon's book. Talk about profit mongering and greed. Show me the evidence that what is portrayed is in fact solid data.

Mr. M, I must say I LOVED your video presentation as it's just excellent in contents ,graphics and music ! I did listen to it at least 4 times so I could tune in to the music and also read ... just great !

Yes, your video is also real sad and a true eye opener ..... to think we are a rich nation and we do have poor health care and so many uninsured people. I have known people that died because they couldn't pay for their treatment and nobody cared. Medication is overly prescribed and over used which causes a snowball affect of added problems . I know all about this as my brother brought my mom to me for help as he thought she might need to be put in a nursing home as she couldn't stand up, was dizzy, slurred rambling speech with high blood pressure ,I made an appointment with my Dr. for her at 8am but I ended up taking her to the emergency at 5am due to very high BP and she didn't know me ! The emergency thought she had had a stroke and they ran all sorts of tests on her, ER Dr. went over her bag of meds and said lets start over and he told me to trash everything . After awhile I left and then took her to my Dr. at 8am on the way home with the hospital papers in hand . Her meds were changed, some like her heart meds, she didn't even need. We left and by that time mom was walking, she knew me and she had missed 2 doses of those pills that I trashed. Now after 3 years ,mom is still alive and doing great, she walks and drives, she takes only a BP pill and she controls her diabetic type2 with diet .... mom still gets somebody to bring her down to see my Dr. as she is almost a 4 hour drive from me ......but Thank God ,I still have my mom !!

It just seems that once a person reaches a certain age or becomes unproductive due to health that the $$$Boys open season and we become cannon fodder for pill popping of new drugs. Each time I go to my Dr.,it seems there at least 2 drug reps. waiting to see him and when I get a new prescription ,its usually a new drug

I went to my doctor recently as a follow up regarding a motor vehicle accident as advised by my solicitor, and said to her that I had no idea why I was here. She immediately became alarmed as she thought I was suffering from memory loss. I laughed, and said that there was nothing wrong with me apart from whiplash aches, and explained why I was there. Her comment - I wish I had more patients like you as I only see ones who are sick. At 70, I work 2 days a week as an accountant, lead a Home Fellowship Group, walk miles just about every day, but most of all, I watch what I eat - nothing prepackaged and lots of fresh vegetables, but importantly, will not take any prescribed medication if possible and unless necessary. My experience with doctors has been that they are all too willing to prescribe medicine as this seems to be what most people expect. I feel it is time that people need to be re-educated to take control of their own health instead of leaving it in the hands of those who have been taught that they know it all as well as receiving benefits from the big drug companies to push their products.

2 years ago, a friend of ours had a friend that took some antibiotics for bronchitus. As he was taking the pills, his wife shared that they were expecting their 6th baby. Within minutes he collapsed and was brain dead in 3 hours. His wife became a single mother of 6 children in only hours...all because of a stupid antibiotic.

This alone tells me something is wrong with our medical system.

I believe that God gave us plants for healing..... surely it can not be a coincidence that certain plants heal?

Just food for thought.

From an artist point of view the aesthetics of this video were very well done, the music was sooo cool, and i will look up the data on that artist as suggested. This message is majorly needed to be spread to more than just those who already agree that the FDA, AMA & APA are money motivated and lack the ethical presence in our society. Mainstream planet earth needs a wakeup call, and in my opinion, this video, run at a slightly slower pace would be a possible tool. I also agree that having the sources on the statistical figures would be nice but i wouldn't promote junking the video due that issue. In camparison, the acronyms i just mentioned(AMA,FDA,APA) will use lies to support their "theories", and on the big TV audience.(One out of every 2-3 commericals are drug related) I would like to point out, to the girl who doesn't like to use terms like Big Pharma, that it doesn't matter what you call them, proper names or not, they use every means they have to see that anything that inhibits their selling of drugs is targetted and a black PR campaign war is waged against their opponents. ie: vitamins and nutritional supplements are looked at as distraction to their public and must not stand in the way, so there is now an approved bill to slow down that trade and make it more expensive to get healthy....need i give more evidence.....Overall it is a good video and worth seeing and showing others

This video was a very profound one. It helps me fight the fight. Being an Iridologist and going for my Master Herbal Diploma; having a Doctor and statistics back up the same information I am teaching my clients is wonderful. I would also like to recommend a book called The Chemistry of Man written by Dr. Barnard Jensen. It is very good and teaches people the importance of cleansing and feeding the cells of the body not putting medications in the body that destroy the immune system. I healthy immune system will carry us through to fight off infections and disease.

I agree with what I saw in this video. I placed it on my blog. Even people who agreed with it (one of them a nurse), said that it would have been way more effective if you had said where the statistics came from and if there had not been the ad on the end for the book. Several people were totally turned off, because it was all about selling a book.

Interesting that you chose the music of Iz, Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, who suffered from extreme obesity. But I wonder if use of his music for the video observed copyright rules. Iz died "only" in 1982. I doubt the music is outside of copyright protection yet.
