hey folks...calm down....Ron Paul is not perfect.....however, he's the best candidate we've got by far.....closest to a true constitutionalist.....democrats and republicans are the same stinky critter, just with different colored stripes.....Ron Paul is basically a Libertarian.....and while I don't buy all aspects of Libertarianism (such as open boarders), their philosophy resonates best with me....Dr. Paul supports abolishing the Federal Reserve and returning to the Gold Standard......he believes that we should not be meddling in affairs all over the globe.....he may not be electable, however, I will vote for him and sleep very well at night.....until everyone quits voting for the lesser of two evils and votes their conscience, nothing will change.....Ron Paul is a good start and a breath of fresh air…..and, oh by the way, the only real way that things will change is Congressional term limits…..the founding fathers never remotely conceived of career politicians….and if we can have term limits for President, then we can have them for Congress as well….

I have been watching Ron Paul for years. I only wish he was my congressman, in a sense he is.

Don't look for the controlled media to give him a chance.

Hello, while I have come to expect genuinely thoughtful advice on sundry health issues from Mr. Mercola I have to admit to some surprise that he has decided to enter the political fray and proselytize to us on these fairly non health-specific matters. Ron Paul is anti -choice and has called global climate change science's general consensus that the causes are anthropogenic overblown. I realize how attractive is the candidate whose entire platform is wiping out the IRS and giving us back our tax dollars; indeed, it would seem noteworthy that in this nearly post-Bush environment even liberal minded people are seriously looking at this Republican (quite surreal actually). I think however that Dr. Mercola should refrain from the political missives on this site and perhaps open a site for that express purpose. I get the newsletter for health topics not nudges one way or the other towards a voting booth.

The fact is, Ron Paul CAN win in the upcoming primary, and I think this is something that keeps the powers that be up at night.

Money is consistently claimed by the press as the sole force of determining who will become president, as if the advertising and negative ads were the aole reason that the public votes.

If Money were the sole issue, Obama would walk away with this election, since he has Soros and the bloggers solidly in his corner, and is cleaning Hillary's financial clock, but we all know that Hillary is the selected candidate for the powers that be in the Democratic Party.

If Money were the sole issue, then Mitt Romney would be walking away with the primary, but this election will be determined mainly by that massive crowd of disaffected people who are registered but hate most of the elite choices for the Republican Party. Mitt wins some polls, but not all, and he is not trusted by the base since he is a Northeastern Republican.

Guiliani may be tough, but he faces the same problem with the South that McCain did, so he will be a front runner for a while, but will be taken down in flyover country.

McCain is no longer an issue, since he is unable to keep his own staff on board.

This field in both parties is wide open, and if the power elites in either party tries strong arm tactics, they will find that they have NO BASE. Maybe the power eleites think they can ship in overseas voters, or tweak the voting booths, but this election will be decided by the people, and anyone who gets in the way will be exposed, and will lose their political career.

Ron Paul is not another crank candidate, but has actual platform information, a history of political service, and an understanding of what the public wants. He is not out making statements about attacking Pakistan is they do not play ball. The guy is getting the usual smear campaign in the press, but the internet is allowing him and his effort to be known, and his platform to be understood.

I am sick of Dr. Mercola pushing his political views on the website that is supposed to be about health. Almost makes me want to stop reading his newsletters.

Yes, I like Ron Paul too, but I think it's a little too early for me to just consider him. There are others, like Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson that are worthy of at least some consideration, even as a running mate and I don't want to be locked in to just one candidate 18 months before election day. I would like to see Alan Keyes consider running, also.

I guess my comments will be unpopular, but no matter which candidate you favor, I do not feel that Dr. Mercola should include political information on his website. I have been reading this information for a long time and greatly respect his knowledge about medicine and health, but I feel that venturing into the political arena is inappropriate unless the position will directly affect health issues. If that is the case, that information should be written in the blog by Dr. Mercola. Thanks for the opportunity to speak my concerns.

Dr. Paul is my hero also. I have donated to his re-election campaign every time he has run, for many years. Even though he lives in Texas and I live in Oregon. I've done that because he votes on things that affect me, and votes the way I like.

Give you an idea of what he and his family are like, one time when I donated he sent me a thank you, and his wife sent me a photo copy of the Paul family's favorite recipes (they were great!). That is the kind of "down home" folks we are talking about here. You've got to love people like that. That's the real America.

I dunno. I watched the video that's on this site and, while Ron Paul had lots of good ideas and things to say, I felt like he was a mile wide and an inch deep. I'm all for smaller government, but he never really addresses where more (or better organized) government involvement is needed for society's protection. The federal government is really there to protect us from threats both internal and external, but not to have its long finers in every area of our lives. Ron Paul seems to think that just by making more information available things will work themselves out, but big businesses have shown time and again they're not interested in the welfare of society and providing accurate information, but only in large profits. Don't think so? Watch the recent video posted on this site related to GMO's and the company Monasonto.

The thing that bugged me the most about Ron Paul was his comment in the video about letting your neighbor prescribe prescription drugs to you. Who needs licensed pharmacists, right? That's just government's way of interfering with our lives. Not sure if I can put this politely, but that was just a dumb statement. Gave me flashbacks of Dan Quale.

I'll keep my eye on him, but my first impression of Ron Paul was definitely mixed.

This is too good to be true. I'm independent and believe in the candidate more than the party at hand. Ron Paul has great idea's. How realistic are they? How many years would his policy take to change the course of things? What are the underlying sanctity's of Marriage between man and woman? I don't believe in Gay Marriage and do believe that it's made for man and woman. If a piece of paper gives a gay couple the same right to services so be it. I don't think that should be part of a marriage certificate though. You can't have a child with two women or two men together. The child needs a mother and father to look at for specific roles in life. Adoption should be with a man and woman to get the points across the points of view that God has instituted between man and woman. My thoughts.

Dr. Mercola... we jive on many health issues. But you have openly entered the political arena here and we heartily disagree. My priority is the God who lovingly created us. He gave us our blessings... family, friends and nature. I strongly support correct use of the Constitution of the U.S.. Let's have some common sense.... to take care of our country and people... we need a strong defense. It's unfortunate but true. Ron Paul is a disaster in many ways in my opinion. It is actually frightening to think of someone who doesn't recognize the need for a strong defense to be in the Oval Office.

I am so thrilled that Dr. Mercola put this article on his site. One never knows who agrees with your political opinions and who don't. Ron Paul has been my champion for years and finally he took good advice and is running for President. It does my heart good to see so much support and to read all these good comments about him and his candidacy. He is the only candidate or legislator who cares about our constitution and our personal rights.

We, who are for him, need to get on his bandwagon and help him win. My, how our country would change for the good if that were to happen.

Ok folks I like what he has to say about FDA's control over supplements and his prolife views, but to me he is still

a republican. We need to stop starting wars everywhere. We need to get out of Iraq that illegal invasion is hurting us. I need to see what his views are on Iraq before I vote for him.
