Th goodlady picks the local wild fruits, especially the blueberries that grow in abundance, when she makes jams, jellies, and compote (nearly said compost), and we regularly have fresh mixed fruits with layers of fresh cream; all very enjoyable and tasty. Sadly, most local residents seem ignorant of their benefits or are too lazy to pick, clean, and prepare the fruit, prefering to buy from the supermarkets. When we are seen picking the blueberries often people will enquiry about what we are doing and show surprise that those little blueberries are actually healthy fruit; their ignorance is astounding.</p>
