I was actually in tears after the Future of Food. It was so hard to watch. I tell people, "I am not an activist! I swear! It is just that you cannot talk about this without sounding like one." And it is true. You do not have to get involved in the "American Pissing Match" in order to sound like an activist these days. It is really THAT bad out there. I must say though some of this has become so oppressive that it has affected my health - because of all the negativity and stress related to it. I was really relieved to see a new movie called FRESH which takes a more positive approach to all this. I had begun to lose hope before I saw the previews for this. (Again Dr. M. if you moderate your comments check out the Freshthemovie.com site.) And everyone else too. The website is FreshTheMovie.com and one of the Farmers from the Omnivore's Dilemma is in it, Joe Salatin. It is worth the time and I am envious of others because I cannot go to the screenings. There will be a panel with the people in the film after the show!!! This is a positive way to get involved and change things, for real.

Everyone needs to see the video "The Future of Food". You can get the DVD or google the full version. It's over an hour long, but I guarantee you, you'll think twice about what you buy after watching it. Whoops. I just checked Google, and seems like they pulled the full version from the web. Under pressure from the "BIG, BAD, BOYS"??? You can still watch it in parts on YouTube. Or just get the DVD and support the cause and save our food supply from being totally messed up by corporations who do not have our best interest at heart.

It is my impression that Monsanto has already done it, with the aid and abettment of the person currently occupying the US presidency and his entourage. Similarly, Mr. Rumsfeld has turned over the US Food and Drug Administration to Merck and a few smaller pharma giants. Mister Rumsfeld´s $5,000,000 Tamiflu profit in May, 2006, was nice "pocket change" for him. Some German physicians report that "tamiflu" engenders "flu symptoms" in some people and has no anti-viral properties, thus should be viewed as a harmful placebo. Viewing Mr. Rumsfeld´s record with aspartame, "tamiflu," and US defenses, perhaps he should be treated as a harmful "placebo." dr.b_helthi

Everyone ought to go out and get and watch the movie Damien-Omen 2 from the late 70's. The premise of the devil is to take over the earth with food...and genetic food. I think the writer was trying to warn us.

Monsanto is doing that with the farmers as we read.
