I read a lot of fine print in the supermarket. No candy or white sugar. I use maple syrup which I make or local honey on my cereal. I raise range free chickens with access to flax seed so I, maybe, have omega-3 eggs. Best of all I found a source of raw milk from grass fed cows and also grass fed beef. I make Kefir from the milk and drink it everyday. For some reason the raw milk has taken away my desire for sweets and curbs my appetite. A big bonus is that I have loss 18lbs.

The reason I'm writing this is I need some help. I recently read a link posted by one of your readers about the importance of omega-3 and omega-6. This article {50 pages] written by Brian Peskin stated that omega-3 taken as a supplement can do more harm than good and that omega-6 should be taken as a supplement because all the abundant omega-6 is ruined by cooking. I hope that Dr. Mercola and some of his erudite readers would look at this link below and give me their opinion.

The report said the FDA has 200 inspectors (some part time employees) to police an estimated 350,000 testing sites.

It estimated that only 1 percent of all clinical trials were audited between 2000 and 2005. During the period between 2000 and 2005 - of the estimated 350,000 trial sites the FDA was believed to have inspected just 2,855.

The report also found there was a lack of follow ups on sites which had been issued with a warning letter after being classified as 'official action indicated' (OAI) for violations of regulatory significance.

The FDA must re-inspect sites that have been sent a warning letter to ensure there are no repeat violations, but according to FDA data, which was noted to be inadequate by the report, the agency only conducted three follow-ups for every 100 inspections that were classified as OAI or voluntary action indicated (VAI).

Other statistics showed that of the 348 sites found by the FDA to be in violation, only 26 were disqualified from further clinical trials and only two had their data disqualified. Seventy per cent received a warning letter, relying heavily on voluntary compliance to correct regulatory violations with no follow up to make sure the violations where corrected.

My boss always advised to "go to the source of the funding to find the bias of the report."

One day I had two health reports to review. One claimed Coffee was good for you, the other claimed it was bad for you. Each was biased towards the outcome desired by the group paying for the research. Even so-called "independent" research is still biased!

There is some right, and some wrong in everything. It is just a matter of how MUCH of each in what is being claimed!! In other words you really can't trust what you read.
