Prevnar had sales of 1.5 billion last year alone. 9 toddlers had the bug. Do you think that there may have been other contributing factors? 1.5 billion in relation to each indivuidual injection would be well over a billion vaccines no matter how you look at it. Of the billion vaccines given, 9 children in NY were effected, and no other reports came to light? That study makes me wonder...

And though we're drifting further off topic, I have to respond to Islander's comment.

At various points in my career as a mathematician, scientist, software developer and teacher, I have often found myself having to "unteach" the mentality that Islander espouses. It is certainly the case that I can write factual statements that do not express only my opinion (e.g. "If I drop a ball in my living room under standard conditions, it will fall to the floor"), and to say that anything a person writes expresses only their opinion is to deny that fact that one can write a statement of absolute truth -- something I find equally disconcerting whether speaking about mathematics, science or life in general. I believe it is important that we teach students to exercise not just critical thinking skills in evaluating what others say and write, but precision in saying and writing precisely what they mean -- including the distinction between fact and opinion.

I find Islander's last statement to be accurate if one's purpose in writing is to win an argument or make converts. I find it to be at odds with writing for the purpose of helping one's self and others to find truth -- which is what I think the writers in this forum are trying to accomplish.

My 2nd daughter just gave birth to a healthy 7lb 11oz. baby boy. She is of course, breastfeeding just like I breastfed her [until she was two and right thru a third pregnancy]. The point is, she was working for a pediatric dentist who gave her lots of information on vaccines and the dangers of giving them to your child. Rare one should find a doctor that is informed. Something along the lines of Weston Price [also a doctor]. Anyway, I bought some information for her to help her stave off "forced" vaccinations and she found a pediatric doctor that would work with her. Her mother in law is a nurse and of course encourages her to "supplement" her breastfeeding with "formula" which I have told my daughter is ridiculous. I am a staunch believer in breast-feeding. It is hard for her to eat as healthy as she is a newlywed with a new baby, a new house, a husband who is in rookie school to be a firefighter and is a paramedic who works in a hospital and laughs at her ideas about good health. They also cannot afford the organic and since she's not working now, her husband buys the food. I try to bring her raw milk and goodies when I can. I believe its all a balance. I vaccinated my children, and wish I had not. I believe that vaccinations are dangerous. Whether or not doctors realize this, or whether or not BIG PHARM did enough studies to realize it, I don't know. But they should not turn their heads on this glaring light that has recently been shown on the evils of vaccinations. It's a shame I have to come onto a website to find others who agree with my ideas about health [and I'm not perfect at it] but I do try. Thanks to all of you who are open-minded, do your homework and share your ideas, websites, etc. Many people say to me, "how can you afford it?" organic food is to expensive. I always say "being sick is much more expensive" -

All this suffering for nothing........there is absolutely no proof that vaccines even work. The only thing that happens is they change the names of diseases so that the supposed disease which there is a vaccine for declines dramatically......but they never mention how other diseases increase dramatically. It's all a scam!!!

This is the first time I have posted here, but I have been a avid reader for several years. I have an 18-month old daughter and shortly before she was born, a friend of mine warned me about vaccines. Initially, I thought he was over-the-top with the harm they can do, but as I did more and more research, I was shocked to see both the depth of the harm they can cause as well as the cover up by the government and the pharma industry. (Just FYI, my brother is autistic so I have an especially strong interest in that subject.)

My daughter has not been vaccinated at all and she has had almost perfect health. Instead of vaccinating, I have fed her organic raw foods (veggies and raw milk) as much as possible and avoided sugary junk food. We have been called "wacko parents" by doctors and some friends, but now that the friends have seen how Jackie never gets any infections that their children get, they are starting to believe what I have been telling them all along. (It's amazing how healthy one can be when you eat good foods.) If being a "wacko" means that I will have a healthy, happy daughter, then I will proudly display my degree in "wackorology" :-) Anyway, I figured I would jump in and introduce myself to you all. Thanks for all the info and advice that you all have been posting.

You can safely and simply protect against contagious and epidemic diseases without running the risk of superbugs, autism, or any other vaccine related disorder. Please see the Do No Harm Initiative website www.d-n-h.org (non-profit organisation) for info that is going up about homeopathic immunisation. Lots of other stuff there and being added to weekly. It has, and will info about safe homeopathic immunisation for children, adults, travellers, and animals.

You will find info that tells you what remedies are used, when to give them, and how to give them. Print off the sheets and take them to your homeopath and ask them to provide them for you.

There is also an article on the site about how government funded studies in Brazil (over 100,000 people) have shown that one dose of a homeopathic preventative provided 91 - 95% protection against meningococcal disease (meningitis C) over a year during an epidemic. This is important information when meningococcal is such a killer or cause of major disability in all ages. There is so much that should be known about homeopathy's ability to immunise and protect safely!

Americans must wake up to the facts that are so present and growing in our society. The facts are the vaccinations of our children is a profit motivated venture that keeps GROWING and GROWING. In germany NO CHILD is vaccinated until the AGE OF 2 by law. The German medical; establishment states that childrern under 2 DO NOT HAVE NOR POSSESS any IMMUNE SYSTEM other than what is provided in the Mothers MIlk. Is there a high mortality rate of young german children?
NO, in fact it MUCH less than here in the U.S. Why, are our kids being vaccinated against so many things that many European countries refuse to administer to thier own kids??? The pharmacuetical industry in my view is a criminal organization of the most extreme we have yet seen in modern history. An organization that harms and even kills the most innocent ( our chilldren) for profit. Something must be done, and done quickly. A citizen revolt agianst Big Pharma must be organized in each and every state, starting at the local level. Zero in on all politicians who take money form big pharma and get a petition going to get them recalled. Let 's roll back the darkness and bring forth the light.

What I found interesting about this is the correlation with dogs ,who the companies producing the vaccines and veterinarians have recomended should be vaccinated yearly against everything, which are getting a high proportion of ear infections. Fortunately this situation is slowly changing as savvy dog owners are questioning this policy and putting pressure on vaccine companies and vets.

My questions is . . .

Are they telling the patients this when they actually give them the shot?

Or, are they finding it out on the news AFTER they have already received the shot?

My uncle's wife's father died within months of receiving the flu shot. He was healthy with no problems BEFORE he received the shot but went down hill right after.

Isn't this in fact the same result we humans reaped from the use of pesticides such as DDT when we began to find that insects we were trying to kill off were getting stronger or bigger in response to the DDT?

In my opinion, this simply further exemplifies the ignorance and lack of wisdom that lay behind the thinking of modern science and perhaps modern society in general. .... There does appear to be a severely lacking understanding of the important relationship between all aspects of life, both on this planet and within the body itself. ... Everything is connected and plays an important role in the balance of things.

The wisdom of a "natural" approach to healing and understanding of disease of any sort, is that the response one takes comes from an understanding of the science of Health as in fact being the science of "Balance".

... What we have today is an approach that comes from an understanding that is more characteristic of "Opposition" and "the Good against the Bad". .. Thus in that approach we find ourselves "attacking" symptoms,.. rather than seeking to restore Balance and Harmony within the system,... and the natural result of this appraoch is exemplified in the likes of this news story regarding the creation of Super Bugs in response to the use of vaccines.

We will never succeed in restoring health by attacking the messengers of imbalance,.... and that is exactly what the symptoms and elements of illness or disease are. They show up to inform us that we are out of balance and in need of harmonizing. If we ignore the message and instead attack the messenger,.. we do so at our own peril and we continue to not take responsibility for addressing that imbalance within us which we have created.

I read recently that a lot of hospitals are using Manuka honey (from New Zealand) to combat MRSA and other superbags in their premises, perhaps that would be something to look into and hopefully catch on. It‘s been used in NZ for centuries as potent anti-bacterial and all-round medicine (tastes amazing too!).

That said, used directly it could certainly give a new meaning to the term ‘glue ear‘..!!

This article brings to mind an ad for margarine that was on TV when I was in High School (over 30 years ago). It's main line was:
"It's not nice to fool mother nature". This is what we're doing and we're paying the price for sure.
