Throwing a bone is right. It's not just a few drugs that have side effects. It's ALL of them. The entire pharmacological system is corrupt and poisonous.

We as consumers are at the mercy of very ruthless, and non-caring people, who are not above using any tactic to increase their bottom line. Trouble is not enough of us as Americans pay attention to any of this. We now have mutant food, created in a lab, and sweeteners, intented to souly destroy the health of it's users. We also have killer medicines that are allowed to be sold and factored into the profit margin is the cost of litigation. All the while the FDA claims to be protecting us by outlawing dietaty supplements, and making the claim that Stavia is harmful to ones health, as opposed to Nutra Sweet, Sweet 'n' Low etc.

A system that disallows any health benefits derived from natural foods such as the anti-inflammatory benefits of cherries, to be publically announced. If done, the individual is in danger of arrest, and of having his or her life turned up side down. All the while we have an organization labeled "Quack Watch" running interference for the drug industry, and the FDA. At the same time, we as Americans are asleep, when it is the most important vigilance for which we are responsible. Our health, and we are asleep.

Rest assured juat as the tobacco industry knew of the health dangers of smoking, so the food industry knows it's nastiness as well. MSG, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Mutant foods, and the like, we need to educate ourselves, and be vigilant, and most important of all spread the word. Tell your friends, and they in turn will tell their friends. We need to get the word out.

A lot of belly -aching, which I agree with, but can a pure system be achieved? Whether one votes or not, someone is going to lead in the controlling mechanism called government which society must have to survive. Humans are the planet's most agressive animal. As has been said, if you throw the rascals out, the replacements will become rascals in short order.. Remember, politicians normallyh have very big egoes which imperll them to choose a job from which they deriver a personal benefit. Even though you may have voted for them, you cannot trust them. They respond to pressure like every one. They are for sale. Fortunately, straight cash to them will get you no where. It takes money to develop any pressure grroup ,beneficent or venal. Big Pharm and AARP are opionion makers working on politicians. Try to get AARP to share and work for your goals.

Why not give us an email address with which we could DIRECTLY submit our dissatisfaction with the "fox guarding the henhouse" to our elected officials AND the FDA? Grassfire.org does that on topics of universal importance and daily relevance to all.

OR are we afraid that they will "run us to ground" and come, gestapo-like in the night and raid our houses for those forbidden "healthy cures" they know we all use and have proved in our own bodies because "THEY" haven't proved they work. (and are sure they don't because it won't put money in their pockets)

Why do we even need the FDA? Let the drug companies do their own testing. They do, anyway.

If it was of any use, we would not have aspartame and MSG.

The consumer is totally on his own. Lets save the money and outsource it to China.

They understand food, as I have noticed. How could they do any worse? At least they execute

failures.

That way we would not have the false sense of security of the Fatal Drugs Allowed political hack group.

Isn't it funded by Monsanto anyway?

The newsletter is to be published quarterly or 4 times a year. How many people will be adversely affected by dangerous drugs in the time between publication of the newsletters.

Great,.... so now maybe we could keep the pressure on to force a reformation and clean up of what has essentially become another sold out government agency. .....and while we're at it, why not enforce a clean up of the rest of the federal government here in the USA. .... As Bill Moyers stated on the Charlie Rose show on PBS,... the night before the last presidential election; "Our present government in Washington has become a cover for corruption."

Dr. Marcia Angell, MD and former editor and chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, remains correct in her many conclusions in her book: 'The Truth About the Drug Companies: How they Deceive Us And What To Do About It' (2006), a pivotal, salient, cogent and must read, treatise, for all Mercolians, in my humble opinion.

Once again, this posted article demonstrates beyond any spin or conjecture to the contrary, how overtly broken, and corrupt, the FDA currently is to it's core.

If it were not for individual great American Heros, like Dr. David Graham, battling the overwhelming forces of darkness at FDA, I'd say all might be lost, however, there remains the 'law of unintended consequences' in play here.

The internet, a government internal project to improve general communication among governmental agencies, is now one catalyst, through sites like Vital Votes, to expose the overt corruption at FDA, and indeed to force positive, proactive, preventative, low cost, health protocols, than sainted Dr. Marcia Angell speaks about in her book.
