Just signed up, and on, so catching up a bit.

Am in pretty good health for being a senior. Lots of my friends who, in years past, laughted at my home grown sprouts and home made yogurt have died, or have cancer right now. Really sad....

My grandfather died of a brain tumor, as did a good friend.

When I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, I went to a chiropractic who told me that if he could get circulation to the tumor my body would heal it. I said, lets go for it....

He adjusted my skull once a week for about 6 weeks, a very sore lump raised on the top of my head at that point. I called him to ask "what the heck is going on?" He told me that the "lump" indicated that the tumor had "ruptured" and would now drain.

It did...out of my sinus' and some, I'm sure, was cleaned out by the spinal fluid which washes the brain, also.

The odor was the most putrid I've ever experienced - much like an old animal carcass found in the woods, This dainage lasted 6 weeks or so then stopped. A year later there was one more "drain out," and since then, nothing!!!

I've been checked several time since and there is no sign of the tumor!!!!! Oh, yes, this was in the mid 80's!!!

So, as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat.......

P.S. I do use the Docs and pharms when they are needed, using alternative solutions first, and as long as they are helping.

And, another note...this worked for me, and perhaps would not work for someone else!!!

I am totally new to this website. It was recommended to me by a friend. I watched dr. Pausch's video and read about half the comments. I found the comments very interesting. I think the criticism of the doctor for accepting traditional medicine's verdict perhaps appropriate.

My own medical problem is the prostate. I tried the master cleanse he recommends about a couple of years ago and it seemed to help a lot. A couple of weeks ago I had all the symptoms of prostatitis. My daughter had put me on antibiotics for a couple of weeks. At first I thought the antibiotics and made me better, but the following day I had terrible symptoms. I remembered about fasting and started. In a couple of days I felt much better. I have an appointment with the urologist tomorrow. I don't know what he thinks about alternative cures, but I intend to tell him about my experiences. I'm very sceptical of the medical est ablisment. One of the things Larry Clapp recommends is chelation. Does anyone have any comments about it that I might read. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to share their ideas and their heart-felt thoughts.

When I watched this video , of course my first reaction was " what a great attitude" ,but my second one was a sinking suspicion that , due to his academic entrenchment , he would naturally go with chemo and radiation treatments . Universities are , as most who read the good Dr. Mercola's website already know , very closely associated with for profit medicine . As someone else said , his will be a self fulfilling prophecy since they have already given him a timeline . I have to bristle everytime I see an ad for MD Anderson and how they exude such a sense of hope , but what a lie . The conventional meds camp uses this very same argument where alt and natural treatments are concerned - that the sick are being given a false sense of hope , but alternative is the way I would absolutely go if I came down with cancer based on what I've seen of people who go with conventional . The sheriff of the county I live in just died from leukemia recently - Harry Lee was his name - and he was going to MD ANderson . He lived for 5 months after his treatments began . I may not be a doctor by I think he would have lived longer if he had never gone to MD Cancerson as tenacious as he was .

I really injoy all of the comments and opinions. I am a believer in nutrition and do the best that I know.

I am 61 yrs. young, the last time I was sick was 1981 and I will add to that, I will never get sick again.

Main reason is that himself took our infirmities & bore our sicknesses. I strongly believe that cancer is

a spirit and I am not against doctors or chemo especially if the cancer has a head start on you. With

our God / Lord all is possible, he healed all that came to him, and he has not change today. In 1993 I

visited a young man in the Hospital in ICU who had a cancer in his brain with no hope. When I came

into the room the anointing of Our Lord came upon me and I grab this young man by his exposed ankles.

The next day the doctors check this young man and the cancer was gone, and no I didn't do it, Our Lord

did it, I was just the willing vessel full of faith in this dying sinful world.

Absolutely fantastic comments from what seems to be mostly my 'American Cousins'. No foul language, no condemnation, just open heart felt dialogue. So different than here in the UK. I spent 4 years with the doctor trying to get my health back and I was slipping into terrible pain almost weekly. Then within 4 days of starting to follow the recommendations of Dr. H. Clark, I was pain free and on the road to recovery and have not looked back, but it is the same as a spiritual journey, we need to keep going, keep learning, never thinking that we have 'arrived' and 'know it all'. I appreciate how several have shared websites, remedies, protocols that have worked for them. This blog could be a valuable resource to someone facing cancer. I was wondering if any of the Mercola Readers have looked at knowthecause.com with Doug Kaufmann?? He really believes there is a fungal link to cancer. He has seen many cancer patients survive cancer by taking anti-fungal remedies. And of course going on the Phase One Diet which would be organic whole foods, grass fed beef and chicken and he eliminates all grains because of the way they are stored and have so many myco toxins that cause the fungi overgrowth. I lost a sister to brain cancer and two in-laws to cancer. My sister died and I had no clue then to the alternative methods. But when my mother and father in law died within the last 2 years they were unwilling to do only what the doctors told them. I felt a lot of frustration over that. I had to respect their wishes but I think they would be alive today if they would know the whole truth.

I wondered about this, why show a man dieing of a disease that could probably be cured? He placed his trust in "conventional medicine", an oxymoron in terms. Then I remembered how it felt to here the words along with we will help it to be easier. Had I not had a bad experience with Chemo I might have done the same. His courage is commendable seeing death coming. In the end we must do what we percieve to be right. We all face death eventually, and for the lucky ones only once.

puzzeled mom....WHO told you your daughter has a brain tumor...and why do you believe it?

Sickness is often like a fedex package...once you recieve it and open it...it is yours. You do not have to believe everything the allopathic physicians tell you.....get a 2nd opinion.

Your daughter's diagnosis may have more to do with your husband's excellent insurance coverage than a real illness.

Dear Cyndi Lou...this is the prayer I choose to pray. The serenity prayer IS the LAZY cowards' mantra.

I will save my respect for men like Dr Mercola who endeavor to do what others say cannot be done.

When failure is not an option and surrender is out of the question...this is the prayer to pray. You can keep your serenity. If someone tried to tell me my children were going to lose a parent...I would fight like he**!!!

I am saddened that the Prof does not appear to have Jesus Christ in his life. After all, life on this planet is a stepping stone and we go to one of two places when we leave here--heaven or hell. If you want to make a difference in your life, put it into the hands of the living God who will transform it into something we never could. He is able to give it meaning that will last for all eternity. It matters not how long we are here on this Earth. I speak from the position of recovering from the brink of death from Lupus and MS. My father recently died and I pleaded with God that He would seek nutrition. Even though he knew better he chose drugs but it really doesn't matter that he was murdered in a nursing home (given an overdose of morphine) because I know he is now with our Lord in heaven. He is deliriously happy. I know this because he spoke to me through the Holy Spirit in a dream. I will join him one day and I can't wait. When it is your time to go, you go no matter what therapy you used. Don't get me wrong. I am all for good nutrition. After all our bodies are the temple of God and we are to take very good care of them.

Life is pain. We all know that - even those for whom money (a major source of pain for many peolpe) is no object. And this professor is facing tough times. I'm sure he gave a great lecture - he has great presence, good delivery and the WSJ mangled it.

It reminds me of a major movie flop a few years ago - the Hitch hIker's GHuide to the Galaxy. It started life as a series of 12 30-m inute radio shows, a TV series, a double album, a series of 5 or 6 books and eventually a movie.

The radio series was best... there was tremendous interplay between the characters involvingf wit, sarcasm irony.. and the overall effect was an enormously funny and entertaining show. I loved Marvin - the paranoid android - who frequently complained about having a "brain the size of a planet" but was sadly underappreciated and underutilized.

Sadly the film was a complete waste of celluloid. Out went the interplay, they only kept the punchlines. and without the buildup, the punchlines were completely pointless. It was a monumental flop - boring newcomers to THHGTTG and offending enthusiasts. And Marvin... was given a head the size of a beach ball. GUYS- "size of a planet" was a metaphor for monumental intelligence. he just looked ridiculous.

I feel the wall street journal did the same to this procfessor's lecture. Keep the comedy, keep the punchlines, and scrap the development . I expect it doesn't do him justice,

And all you opponents of mainstream medecine..I hate medecine as practiced in USA. The focus is on making MONEY!!!!!!!!! and not making healthy people. I'd love to join you in total praise of the alternatives but I can't. My neighbour had cancer. took the alternative route, built up her immune system, I do not know all she did, but it took all her savings, and she died in 6 months. Doesn't sound much different to me.

I guess all of us who watch this vibrant, intelligent man cannot help but think, "oh, what a shame, he is leaving his children and wife and it is so sad." It must have been very difficult for him to give that lecture, and difficult for his wife to listen to it. Such courage is uncommon. For ANYONE who is faced with cancer, though, I would encourage them to check out the VIBE machine. I am a skeptical RN who has been convinced, after listening to client after client who has used this machine, that it has helped many people overcome cancer, put MS into remission, clear up MRSA infections, etc., etc. Currently both Mayo Clinics are studying this machine. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester is studying this machine and autoimmune disorders. The Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ, is studying this machine and cancer. And on and on. Go to vibemachine.com and check out the videos. If I were this professor, I would try the machine. I can tell you that it has decreased my husband's PSA from 17.1 to 5.8 and it is still going down. It has kept my daughter's peak flows (she has severe asthma) at 90% when she has a cold (unheard of) and she gets over colds in 4 days instead of the usual 2 weeks. I have talked with people that had Stage IV cancer (metastasis to distant parts of the body) that their physicians say is now GONE. I have talked with people with severe depression who are no longer depressed, adults with seizure disorders since childhood that no longer have seizures and are off their meds. If I could get this professor to a VIBE machine (and there are many around the country), I would. I understand that people are having great success using the VIBE machine and the Budwig diet. It doesn't help everyone, but as the professor says, when you've been shown a brick wall, it just means that you have to demonstrate how much you want something. Perhaps this cancer is just another brick wall. He might have to try something unusual. I send him and his family blessings.
