What about backlyard marijuana growers? They get away with it - or so it seems. If they can do it, so can we. :o) We would have to have a revolt. There is too much government, and too much corporation interference in our lives as it is. Of course food safety is growing it ourselves, and knowing where it comes from, and knowing what is inside of it.

Though there is a bill, it is unconnected with Monsanto and will not affect home gardens or local producers. Not everything has to be a conspiracy.

i have a question?

where did this article get the thought that a Transgenic event in a plant can be damaging or dangerous?

as a farmer the rederec in this peace is slightly disturbing by characterizing my profession as not chairing bout the end user of my product. nothing could be farther from the truth. we have set rules that have to be fallowed and strict quality requirements that need to be met to sell our crop at full market value.

and if you read this and think i am just a talking head of the large corpoations i am not i have haff my farm sertifyed organic and i have BS in agronomy and Plant Pathology from a meager land grant university. i think that you all need to think before you all start to bag on the farm and the corporations that help us feed you lazy asses just remember "don't *** with out mouth and stumic full"

I am Canadian so I am sure I will have to join this fight with my government soon enough. I the mean time I am hoping that all you health minded people out there are aware of the Zeitgeist movement. A plan to free us from the monetary system and the corruption it breeds and embrace technology in industry for the betterment of everyone. People are losing their jobs because of technology is better at doing the job than a person is and that will continue to happen. A complete reform of our way of life is needed. Which is blatantly obvious when we cannot trust our 'leaders' to protect us or even allow us to protect ourselves from harmful substances. Watch the very well laid out orientation video. A little background here for the sake of some explanation behind what our illustrious government is attempting to do: Back in 1968, the United Nations put out a little booklet to its membership which was titled (sic)"The Plan For Disarmament and Population Control". What it called for is something like 65% reduction in the population of the world, and total disarmament of the populus. What it amounts to is the fewer the people, the easier to control. And if those that are allowed to live, if they are disarmed to boot, the easier to bring on the NWO. They have, hence, developed and implemented one control after another, such as with the additives in vaccines, chemicals in food and drinks, seed hybridization and the development of genetically modified seed, etc., ALL designed to take away our health and ultimately our lives. The key to good health is in nutrition. Take away the nutrition and you take away our ability to heal ourselves, cause us to have more need of health care which we cannot afford as the insurance companies keep raising their prices, and then here comes "big Daddy" with nationalized health care; while all this is going on, Monsanto, Dow, and other chemical manufacturers keep pumping their waste into pharmaceuticals and the food and water supply, and we just keep getting sicker. If the government allows us to go back to farming for ourselves and selling organic food to others, look at the impact it would have on their contributions from these big companies!! Look at the impact it would have on the pharmaceutical industry!!! Look at the impact it would have on the NWO control of the population. NWO is NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORY!!!

Now I wonder if the people who passed the 16th Amendment (creating the IRS) ever dreamed it would be used as a punishment and regulatory tool?

This encourages civil disobedience and black market activites (or green market?)

Isn't it funny how the government says it wants us to go green, but then tries to puts "local" out of business

I believe it is about controlling the food supply. If we have nothing to eat but patented, genetically modified, chemical laden, concotions we will be sick and taking their pharmaceuticals till the grave.

While finding ways to beat the system are cleaver that should not be necessary in a free country. Is that the lifestyle you want to leave for your children and generations that follow?

Writing and calling Congress will probably prove as successful as it did for Bankster bailout #1, but do it just the same. Give them the opportunity to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Then, when the day comes, be on the side of liberty.

Increased regulation?.... isn,t this a good thing? We employ more people to implement, administer and police these new laws, then agriculture and industry has to spend more money and employ more to meet these new standards. The new equipment required causes ancillary industries to gear up to satisify this new demand ..... more employment!!

Result ...... reduced unemployment and increased spending into the economy!!

I just got an alert that President Obama is about to appoint Michael Taylor, a lawyer for, and former executive at Monsanto, to head the proposed new Food Safety Administration (FSA) -- I believe this agency is also proposed in HR 875.
