I know this digresses from the conversation, but studies also prove that matter follows intent....one such study showed that doctors who believed Acupuncture worked had better results than those who provided the therapy, but didn't have faith in it, after all, we tend to find/believe in what we are looking for.

The Effexxor thing kills me, now they are using it for menopause, it causes hallucinations on withdrawl, why is it even an option?

Nothing much changes as the years go by. I'm 75+ now, been here for more than half my lifetime. The one word I NEVER see in newspapers (rags or actual NEWSpapers), is ETHICS. Didn't see it in UK either when I still lived there and the same papers, more or less, are flourishning, of course. But there is one Golden Rule that decent, honest people agree on, no matter what their ethnic group, language, religious beliefs, etc., and that is THE GREATEST GOOD FOR THE GREATEST NUMBER. And it's not true that one, what we call ordinary, person cannot do much or anything to have an effect. If we all did our utmost to follow this rule, starting with ourselves and our immediate family and expanding outward till we encompass the planet, we'd actually end up with a society planetwide (at first) based on this rule. Don't be discouraged, just keep at it folks, through however many lives and cycles it takes. We didn''t get in this mess overnight and it needs far, far more than overnight to change it. I bypass a lot of the usual socio-economic madhouse: I buy my clothes and quite a bit of other stuff in thrift shops, there are plenty of good ones around; I belong to a food co-op which bypasses the purely profit-driven market system; we are helping many other groups to get started on this; we sell much more than human food, and hold social events of all kinds, recycle plastics that NYC does not and so on. We are having a good effect, because people come to us for help and guidance in doing s/thing similar. Remember, nothing is what you get for nothing. There always has to be an exchange; money is a convenience, but other exchanges happen all the time -- and this kind of lifestyle is FUN too. I don't have e/thing I might like to have, but I have shelter, good food, friends, libraries (books and music). I work for the environment on a personal level and through the Hudson River sloop Clearwater. Gaye

My children are now teenagers and have had all their vacinnes and most recently my daughter had the Gardisil vacinne which I really didn't want her to get but was talked into. My question is, is there anything I can do to conteract the harmful vacinnes in their bodies? Such as a metal detox. I just noticed in my daughter especially, that she has very little short term memory and has a hard time communicating (getting the words out).

We influence things with our very thoughts and emotions, that we want to have happen. This is known in Quantum Physics. So how can any research not be flawed? The Law of Attraction and Deliberate Creation says we, yes, WE, create our lives from what we focus on and give energy to. So you can make anything right for you if you believe it is and the opposite is true to. Our biggest fears, our deepest gratitude, our strongest love and desire comes true. Sounds like Science Fiction but I see the evidence of it all around me and so did Einstein and Dr. Wolf and many other Quantum Physicists. So the best thing is to focus on what we want to happen and be very clear about it. If we did we could bring the pharmaceudical dream; the dreams that are not in alignment with health and wellbeing, down as it is, and re-create a world that had integrity in knowledge, science and living.

I use to think that drug companies were just immoral profiteers. I am happy to report that I now believe they are satanists actively trying to degrade the minds of humans so they can never achieve enlightenment is any way, shape, or form. This is why they actively pollute everything, from drugs, water, food, air. You name it, and the sociopathic satanists have poisoned it.

I realize I'm not as conservative, level headed, and scientific as I use to be, but it feels good to be just plain right for once.

When I took a statistics class some years back we used an excellent little book called "HOW TO LIE WITH STATISTICS". I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to find their way through the maze of lies and deception. Warning: this is an old book- not politically correct today, but it waswhen it was written. It's short and information-dense, not a lot of empty verbage. The style is light and easy to read and understand. Even though it's out of print, it's still easy to find. I picked up a copy for a friend last year.

In addition to the problems with the peer-review process mentioned above, there are a few other risks. Some scientific journals use only one or two reviewers (or referees) to decide if an article should be published. Furthermore, some journals permit (even encourage) authors to suggest prospective referees. It is obvious that this is a system that is open for abuse.

The journals I can think of, who use the peer-review processes I just mentioned, generally deal with more theoretical work and are not involved in studies that would have a significant economic impact on any corporations. However, if these procedures are used in medical studies, you can just see how easily the peer-review system can be manipulated, especially when there is a chance of financial gain from it.

More and more--the TV ads for questionable drugs (celebrex is one I follow closely, as I took it until it started stopping my heart for several seconds at a time in the middle of the night) hold my attention.

I'm appalled that they can get away with the following "tell your Dr. if" statements--and still advertise: "if you use medicines--if you are ill"

WHY in the world would anybody consider taking a drug if neither of those two qualifiers were NOT present??

I think it's called CYA--in the event that any of the myriad of problems they list occur...

Being that these studies are motivated by industry dollars, it is no wonder they give a positive spin to the object of research. Then the next move is to make brain washing commercials, and print ads, that throw more of a positive light on the product in question. Quite simply LIE. As for our bought and paid for free press, it is just that, bought and paid for. The triangle of terror, BIG PHARMA, the AMA, and the FDA, cannot and should not be trusted, nor should their little helpers be trusted. You know the CDC, the WHO, or the USDA.

Funny with all this freedom we are supposed to have one little thing seems to be left out, the truth. The FTC, goes after people who place not so truthful ads, on the air and in print, but only after millions have been taken for a ride, and swindled out of millions. Bernnie Madoff, is a good example of your Government at work. Bernnie gets caught after many whistle blowers let the cat out of the bag, twenty years, and 65 billion dollars later. How many untold billions has BIG PHARMA squeezed out of the American public alone?

With all this deception coming to light, there continues to be no set standard for testing drugs, or medical devices, for safety and effectiveness. But there is this move to have a standard set forth to regulate how much of a settlement we as citizens can get for our pain and suffering perchance we are harmed by BIG PHARMA's grabage. Clearly we the American public love being led around by the nose, because we neither attempt to prove nor disprove what the Government, or Industry tells us, and basic logic is out the window. Here are some basic examples, Bounty paper towels, why not a stack of organic cotton towels, to clean such messes. Swiffer duster, how much money will be wasted on refills? Last but not least BIG PHARMA's magic bullets, seems there is a new one every week.

Science has not been a component of modern medicine for many decades. It is common knowledge that after World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union took great pains to exploit the technical advances of the Third Reich. But it wasn't only rocket scientists who were treated like valuable commodities. Much of what was happening in Hitler's Germany was also about the partnership with the Pharmaceutical industry and the development of patentable "chemotherapies" of all kinds. Check out Dr. Rath's age about the role of IG Farben and the extent of the medical experimentation done in the concentration camps. Aushwitz was nothing more than a corporate run slave labor camp. The patentable drug discoveries coming out of the human reasrch done in the camps was for the benefit of German industry which is why the executives of IG Farben were found guilty in the Neuremberg Trials of crimes against humanity. DO you think for a minute that the executives of America's pharmaceutical companies missed the lesson of being partnered with the government to have their ends met? DO you think for a minute that American scientists are immune to the temptations of having a career continutally funded through corporate sponsorship? The cynical will claim that there is no way to have a firewall between industry, government and science. These are generally the same people benefiting from the corruption. The World Health Organization is investigating a European pharmaceutical company that has confessed to carrying out a potentially catastrophic mixing of experimental viruses. Baxter International admitted to contaminating a mix of common and highly contagious human flu viruses with a deadly avian (bird) flu virus. The resulting mix was allegedly accidentally mislabeled and shipped out of the company's facilities where it was used to intentionally create infections. If left undiscovered, this scientific malfeasance could have triggered a pandemic that would have killed millions of humans. Investigators say there is no threat of further contamination, at this point, but that the investigation will continue.
