The measure would greatly expand earlier efforts to limit the chemical from products used only by babies and children.
At the same time out of the millions of dangerous items on the market that are ignored, this may indeed be a tiny step in the right direction.

If you have been waiting on congress you need to be kicked in the rear! Detox your own environment, starting with your home, body, and workplace. Yeah, the boss may not be too cooperative, I cite my own lung problems from second hand smoke. Get a professional (like a holistic chiropractor such as myself or a naturopath) and start a detox program.

A few years back, I acquired the MSDS for the materials used in my replacement fillings and found BPA was a significant component - it's used as a hardening agent. My dentist and the ADA insisted and have continued to insist that it's a safe compound. But less than two months after this dental work was completed, I began showing signs of becoming allergic to a broad spectrum of commonly used chemicals. The following year I was diagnosed with Environmental Illness (EI) and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS).

It is entirely possible that BPA was a major contributor - unprovable, but very possible.

After all the corporations have a habit of putting something worse in later, like the new "mercury free vaccines" which now have aluminum in them which is far worse.

Our Congress does not lead, they FOLLOW. If left to their own devices they will follow the whims of their major contributors. The largest spenders on K Street, where the lobbyists live in DC, are Pharmaceuticals and Health Care with over $2 billion combined a year in influence spending. Right behind them are Defense Contracting, Chemicals and Hydrocarbon lobbies. Unless we speak up, act out and make sure they know we are watching, they will not actin our interests. The action in Congress rectifying the situation with the AIG executive bones is another good example of our representatives responding to their fear of being lynched for their neglect of their responsibilities.
