The train only goes by twice a day, but the company sprays Roundup along the track once a year despite our request that they not spray it near our house. Since I have been living in this house, I have developed rheumatoid pain, even to the point of being crippled in both knees for a long time, that began six months after I moved in here. I have also Hashimoto's Autoimmune Thyroiditis and now I am developing nervous system problems, with terrible pins and needles and numbness in my hands and sometimes legs. I've been dropping things and knocking into things. I've also been having lung problems and have become much more allergic to mold and many foods. I don't quite know what to do. We can't afford to move, as we've been affected by the economic crisis and I don't have the energy to fight the railroad. I am doing my best to detoxify my body. I've only eaten healthy, mostly organic food for 40 years, and except for dying my hair, use no skin or household products that contain chemical products and the area I live in, the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts is quite beautiful, with lots of green and comparatively good air. I am coming to believe these symptoms are due to the Roundup. I invite any comments about anyone having similar experiences, or information on how to test my body, soil and water for Roundup, and/or how to get this stuff out of my system.

I normally do not use my forum for political purposes. Information I have received on some legislation concerns me enough to pass on what I know. I ask you to do your own research, however to help me sort out fact from fiction.

Correspondence I have received regarding HR 873 and S425 has the potential power to eliminate organic farming and home grown food as legal activities.

The main backer and lobbyist is Monsanto - chemical and genetic engineering giant corporation (and Cargill, ADM, and about 35 other related agri-giants). This bill will require organic farms to use specific fertilizers and toxic insect sprays dictated by a newly formed agency to "make sure there is no danger to the public food supply". This will include backyard gardens that grow food only for a family and not for sales.

Here is the link to a summary HR 875 for you to read for yourself: thomas.loc.gov/.../z:

Because of the current wording of the Bill one website I found (www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php) listed the following possible redflags:

Legally binds state agriculture depts to enforcing federal guidelines effectively taking away the states power to do anything other than being food police for the federal dept.

Effectively criminalizes organic farming but doesn't actually use the word organic.

Affects anyone growing food even if they are not selling it but consuming it.

Affects anyone producing meat of any kind including the processing wild game for personal consumption.

Legislation is so broad based that every aspect of growing or producing food can be made illegal.

I think that people hear genetically modified and freak out to much. I dont think there is a whole lot of relevance in the testing of these chemicals in animals, as animals have a completely different genetic makeup than a human. If it is all so bad for everyone why do you not hear of people dying from eating genetically modified food? You will hear of e-coli outbreaks and salmonella from dirty food processing plants and lots of people die from these illnesses due to filth, there are bigger problems to worry about than a genetically modified plant. I don't think that Monsanto is as big of a villain as they are being made out to be, there are way bigger problems and issues out there than this. Monsanto is vital to my staying employed and being able to keep my family clothed and fed and to have a roof over our heads, how about attacking something that doesnt effect our already unstable economy!!!

As suggested above, Monsanto's business model is flawed, and as more and more countries come to this realization, Monsanto will fail. Those holding an equity position (stock) in Monsanto should take this into consideration.

It is interesting to note that the US-FDA will place an Ayurvedic herb which has a thousand-year safety record under close scrutiny, while allowing unnatural, untested, (even toxic products) - such as GM foods - to be approved for human consumption and world-wide contamination. Talk about Nazi experimentation! Where are the long-term studies? Where is the science? Follow the golden parachutes and the fast-money trails!

Bush scolding the starving African nation for telling the US it did not want the GMO foods that the US was trying to send to his nation. Though I have no proof, Monsanto likely greased a few palms, and the protest fell by the wayside. Bad for us. You think?

Read my comments on prisonplanet www.prisonplanet.com/monsanto-gm-corn-harvest-fails-massively-in-south-africa.html. And to put everyone's mind at rest - South Africa's people are NOT starving now.The fallacy that GM crops will feed the poor and hungry is a sheer invention of biotech spin doctors without any validity at all. In fact, Monsanto's maize flop is a blessing since we have been fighting for more than a decade to stop the mass poisoning of our people with Monsanto's toxic concoctions. NON-GM maize grown in South Africa is EXPORTED because other nations don't want our toxic GM-crap. What you should all be aware of is the Trojan horse planted on the African continent - the self-anointed benefactors of mankind - Bill and Melinda Gates who dish out millions of dollars to coerce African government officials and NGOs to plant genetically modified crap.

Of particular note is that, as one would expect, they moderate the comments. I found this inspirational and decided to throw my two proverbial cents into the mix, here is my post:

I find it interesting that you moderate the comments on your blog (i have yet to see anyone do this till now), i would hasten a bet that were you to not that the overwhelming number of posts would read something like “the devil may offer a mask, but it is still the devil…” Simply because your company is ruthless in its campaign, sets its jaws into the federal gov’t, and kills all proposed studies in the US that may determine GM foods as anything but liberators of the free world, you can not escape the fact that you are responsible for every single thing you do against nature …every baby who is born with a compromised immune system, every farmer that is forced to purchase your seed year after year, every maintenance worker who is bedridden…each of you is responsible for this crime against humanity. It may not be instant but karma is going to get you…

Nature bats last...
