I'm sorry Canada, we do oppose Mr. Obama, at least some of us do. Unfortunately this minority is not listened to. I think our government has gotten the bit between it's teeth and it is running with it, while we who still care about and love our country have to sit and watch it's demise

I received a survey that I found very interesting. The AFA (The American Family Association) has it going on line. I highly suggest doing it. Its quick and fast. Go to: www.afa.net:80/petitions/taxes/TakeSurvey.asp. When you are finished you will see an update. This survey is on Taxes and Spending. You will see what Americans think on this subject with out the mainstream media trying to make you think what they want you to believe. I am not sure if they will send it to the White House? It does make a powerful statement.

Ever since Kennedy was assassinated, the very same people responsible for his death are still running this country and until the American people wake up and demand accountability, we will repeat history over and over again. In the words of Prof. Carroll Quigley, nothing is done in Washington that's not calculated. Kennedy trying to bypass the Federal Reserve, cost him his life. Denial can take a hefty toll on a society and America has enough to supply the world.

And if people think voting is the solution, then they too are in denial, for our electorial process is not designed to elect candidates, but to guarantee the ones controlling it victory in our top elections. Trusting politicians to do the right thing is asking way too much of them. Rarely does a politician do the right thing unless it passes the "Do I get to keep my job" test. Voting and election reform is not in their best interest.

We were told by our founding fathers, no warned, that having a "Central Bank", will put our children living in the i streets. Many historians who actually record the truth, not a Rockefeller backed version, know that the Revolutionary War was fought over refusing to become a member of the European "Central Banking system and under the thumbs of international bankers and printing of our own currency. They felt so strongly about this, they put it into our Constitution that no third party, private establishment can print US currency. Besides the obvious reasons why Rogue States are on our list, one reason is because they share a common fact- they are "not members" of the Federal Reserve/Central Banking system. BTW-You can take Iraq off that list, and now they have the great distinction of being the most corrupt country in the world, a direct relationship to our presence/occupation.

In January, 2009 a group of federal scientists sent a very blunt letter, complaining to the Obama Administration of widespread managerial misconduct in a division of the Food and Drug Administration. The letter stated:

"The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the scientific review process for medical devices at the FDA has been corrupted and distorted by current FDA managers, thereby placing the American people at risk," said the letter, dated Wednesday and written on the agency's Center for Devices and Radiological Health letterhead.

Top FDA managers "committed the most outrageous misconduct by ordering, coercing and intimidating FDA physicians and scientists to recommend approval, and then retaliating when the physicians and scientists refused to go along." This same senario can be reported in all our agencies.

Corruption is completely out of control in this country and the idea of addressing the problem is not without many organizations trying to understand why in order to minimize and correct the situation. One organization, Transparency Interanational, which started up 15 years ago, has been trying to analize the cause of corruption, while coming up with solutions based on real data. What they found was "weak institutions, low levels of governance and the influence of personal gain undermine efforts to promote economic equality and sustainable development. These issues must be addressed and change must be implemented if countries in the region are to have a realistic chance of meeting the Millennium Development Goals and improving citizens’ quality of living".

Sounds good, but unfortunately somethings are easily said than done. The question lies in not whether or not we can analize corruption, indeed it exists since the dawn of man, the problem is- corruption is a choice. When Americans can't recognize their form of goverment, which in reality is an oligarchy and not a democracy/republic, then real change cannot take place.

Blaming this administration for debt incurred during the previous 8 years is a flat out lie. I'm shocked to see this garbage here.

People who deal only with facts can see past the last few months. When Bill Clinton handed over the country to George Bush, we were well on our way to paying off the national debt, we had a budget surplus, and spending was reduced. A lot of that is thanks to the policies of his predecessor, policies, by the way, that lost Bush Sr. election to a second term. GWBush was pressured by corporate interests to lower investment income taxes and then start two wars. Bush poo-pooed the "pay as you go" system of budget control.

Please stop pretending that that has nothing to do with where we are now.

The Canadian Free Press is a reactionary, corporatist rag run by ideologues. (Yes, we have them in Canada too.)

Shame on you Dr. Mercola for printing this garbage on your "health" website.

Do you not know that most of Obamas advisors and and cabinet are socialists? Did you not know about the letter sent by the head of homeland security saying that veterans are more apt to become terrorists? Did you not know there are plans to not provide full medical from medicare to those not contributing to society,like your parents or grandparents. Study the history of Germany see what Hitler did to take over.

I agree with the people defending the use of "political" articles on this website. Firstly, as others have pointed out, it IS Dr. Mercola's site, no-one is PAYING for the opportunity to be here, so he can post whatever he wants- if it upsets you too much, what are you doing here? Secondly, I often find areas where my opinions differ from those of Dr. Mercola or some of his commentators. This just makes me hustle off to do more research on the subject and gather more information. And sometimes I find my opinion has been refined. At times I have been turned toward the opinion I originally disagreed with, but of course , at other times my original opinion has been vindicated. At any rate, it is always a learning experience.

The so called Great Depression back in the 30's the workforce was 80% male,10% government employees,most mothers stay home raising their children. To days workforce is a lot different , the workforce of the 80's ,90's ,and the 2000's is 50% women and mothers, 52% government employees . Most of the male jobs have been shut down, we no longer log our forest, let it burn,we no longer do any mining .We have lost most of our manufacturing like shoes, clothing .TV's ,electronics, cars,we even in import telemarking. The government is giving us extra money to help the economy,trouble is most of that money will go to other countries. All wealth comes from the ground, government thinks wealth comes the printing press. fredmontana

The powers to be use this to control and manipulate the public. It basically is a system of causing the problem, check for reaction, then "they" give us the solution. This is how they roll. Do you really think the government is waging a War on Drugs? History tells us that prohibition does not work, yet we still allow a failing policy to exist and is thriving. With over 2 million people now serving time in US prisons, every day more laws are inacted, creating more offenders. These are not laws to protect us, they are designed to control us. They are criminalizing more and more, daily routines. Europe is already primed and ready for their Police State. The last remaining country to deal with is the "middle class" Americans. They fear our opinion, our Constitution, and the fact there are over 300 million guns in the hands of Americans.

You can apply Hegelian Dialectic to every major event in our history. WACO, Columbine, Oklahoma Bombing (which was the precursor to write legislation against terrorism) WTC 93 bombing, which was orchestrated by the Clinton Administration, FBI...who admitted they provided the people with the actual bomb. Pearl Harbor is yet another classic example of how they use this technique to sway public opinion. Through the Freedom of Information Act, it has finally been revealed that FDR, manipulated and directly caused Pearl Harbor to take place. He sacrificed 3,000 Americans, in order to committ us into WWII.

Their motto is, Out of Chaos Comes Order and they have been providing us with chaos every chance they get.

As long we don't hold our appointed/elected officials accountable for their actions, they will continue their agenda of World Globalizaton. We are under the control of the Federal Reserve/ Central Bank, which is private institution, not Washington. They are only the actors, while our shadow goverment makes decisions on our future.

I think what you are writing is your opinion and not fact and it is my opinion, with all due respect, that it is you who lives in your own little bubble. Before classifying all Muslims as "they" as if though they were aliens from a different planet, I suggest you actually do the research about Islam and the Middle East. When you do you will realize that Islam is a peaceful religion and just as Timothy McVey's actions should not represent Christian dogma neither should the actions of uncivil Muslims be allowed to represent that of Islam. I am curious to know what have you found in the Quran that suggests Islam is anything but peace? I have read the book and I have to disagree with you...and I am not a Muslim, but I have lived among many Muslim people and traveled overseas. The majority, I can assure you, have gentle hearts and souls and their religion, just like Christianity, teaches to not insult others and to treat others as you treat yourself. We Americans, sadly, do not have a very good image around the world and I believe it is partly due to our arrogance and belief that we are better people and deserve what others don't. People overseas feel sorry for us. They do not envy our lifestyle. We chase the dollar like fools and view freedom as an American right rather than a human one. People on the East were around a lot longer than we on the West. If we open our minds we might actually find "they" have something to teach us and if we open our hearts we may actually learn.

I am a Canadian. I read Canadian newspapers and watch Canadian TV. What is the "Canada Free Press"? No such "press". The article you quote is the musing of one guy who is really out of touch with Canadian public opinion. Canadians LOVE President Obama. (Just look at the crowds in awe in Ottawa, when he visited.)

President Bush et al. ruined your country (starting way back with the president who empowered the Federal Reserve). Mr. Obama is desperately attempting to stop the free fall .Way too much "freedom" was given to those who benefited from the "sociopathy" of.what started out as American corporations who did not pay their fair share of taxes, who lent money recklessly and who confabulated the equity of derivatives and the benefits of deregulation. Forget Mr. Cheney's Hailiburton and the trillion that went to the contracting out torture as a business enterprise and the supply of no good supplies for American troops- no blame the guy who wants to save jobs on American soil and wants every American to be able to get a couple of years of college, health care, food on the table and a roof over their head.

You have got it all wrong. Canadians LOVE President Obama! And the "CANADA FREE PRESS" is not all that "Canadian" and not really a "press."As for "free", that is a word that has come to represent a multiplicity of often contradictory ideas and is pretty much meaningless / Even the Nazi's liked it: "Arbeit macht frei " translates as work makes one "free.") I appreciate Dr. Mercola's expertise in health-related matters a lot, and I regularly consult the wealth of valuable information on this site. As a Canadian, I don't appreciate the misrepresentation of the views of the majority of Canadians as implied in the article cited. Clearly the majority of Canadians are supportive of the Obama administration and wish your president well, even if there is some uncertainty as to whether all the economic measures will work exactly as hoped. There has to be some uncertainty as none of us have been in this situation before. I think as reported in our media that most Canadians are quite envious of your president and his adminstration, as I am. I think that most Canadians have a greater appreciation of government and what it can do.

I will just give you one example of what your government can do and has done. There is no better national database on atmospheric chemical emissions in the world than that developed by the US Environmental Protection Agency in the previous Democratic administration. I could cite a number of other examples of outstanding health-related databases and other advances for which your national government has taken a leadership role in the past. However, it seems equally clear to me that these advances cannot be fully exploited for the benefit of the American people because of lack of popular support for your government and for a greater government role in health care.

Sticking to just a discussion of health care, I think that both Canadians and Americans could find a better balance between the public and private sectors in health care. Canada has something to offer in the way that the government can provide at least somewhat satisfactory health-care to all its citizens. I think that the US has something to offer in the way that large natural health care clinics such as that clearly run by Dr. Mercola can spring up and provide excellent health care, if only to a small percentage of its citizens.
