He may not be aware of the research of the Nobel prize nominated biochemist, Dr. Budwig, who spent 30 years researching the health benefits of combining flax seed oil with cottage cheese ( a sulfur-based protein). Dr. Budwig supplemented her patients' diets with 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil combined with 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. Dr. Budwig found that a yellowish green substance in their blood was replaced with a healthy red pigment, hemoglobin. She also found that the tumors receded and disappeared, anemia was alleviated, and vital energy was regained.

I would like to respectfully suggest that Dr. Mercola review her literature and reconsider his comments about flax seed oil, as this may be an important food for his followers to eat.

-- First, this is a National Cancer Institute funded study which deals EXCLUSIVELY with the relationship between fats, meats and prostate cancer. It could well be that consumption of fats or meats is not the MAIN cause of THIS TYPE of cancer. Perhaps prostate cancer is MAINLY caused by other causes.

-- Second, in the available "Abstract" there are no details or specifications as to the amounts of fats consumed by patients monitored or what is meant by either the term fat or "meat" -- is it processed meat? Does it also include chicken and fish or is it just from ordinary, hormone-laden cattle?

-- Third, the study "Abstract" available online is not clear and appears to contradict itself, at least in part. Take a look at this quote:

"Intake of different types of fat (total, saturated, mono unsaturated or polyunsaturated), n-6 fatty acid, cholesterol, various meats, and fats from meat showed no association with overall prostate cancer risk or with non localized or high-grade prostate cancer.

"Furthermore, we found little evidence of any relation of fat and meat intake with prostate cancer risk within any of the 4 racial/ethnic groups (African Americans, Japanese Americans, Latinos and Whites).

"There was a suggestion of a protective effect of n-3 fatty acid intake that was limited to Latinos and Whites."

Did you catch it? The first phrase says "no association". Yet the second says "little evidence" (which means they did find SOME evidence, thus contradicting the previous "no association" conclusion. And the third phrase says there IS a "protective effect" of the n-3 fatty acid. I presume n-3 means omega-3 -- if so, how can they say there is "no association" at the same time they acknowledge a "protective effect" of n-3?

Typical conventional med and big pharma double talk...!

prostate cancer is mostly due to a lack of sensuality in the pelvic region.

you know who is least likely to get prostate cancer? gay men and dancers. (pleasure in the hips)

most likely? priests and soldiers. (fear in the hips)

in order for the prostate to function properly , it must be massaged daily by the other organs that surround it. and in order for this to happen, there must be enough mind/awareness/pleasure in the area.

if you want to fix or prevent the problem, get on a massage table, or take a dance or yoga class with someone who knows how to take you into the depths of your core. find your bliss and then follow it where it leads you. that is the answer to cancer.

and by the way, your nutrition ideas will not work either, until there is sufficient mind in the cells to absorb the nutrients.

At the same tim I remain convinced man was not created to subsist on flesh foods. We are indeed healthier when our diets are plant based.
