I first understood of GTD from Dr. Ms newsletter and after reading several other reviews on the book I decide to purchase it and implement the methods. I can say that it was just what I expected, thorough and sistematic, but yet simple and effective. It has increased my efficiency for at least 50% and decreased the stress I feel at work for by half (which primarily origins from the background fear that we are forgeting something improrant out of the milion things we need to do).

To make a long story short, yet another thing to thank Dr. M for and as he said, I would now give maybe 1000$ for the book knowing what I got from it, for 12$ it's a real bargain. For anyone who doubts it, go ahead, you will not regret!

I think that just by waking up earlier, you find a grander part of the day to be apart of which sets you up for a better thereafter. I've been waking up early and going on some short walks or exercising and my days feel longer and thus more filled... plus since I'm waking up earlier, I'm going to bed earlier - I think I read that's healthier to do somewhere

*toasts* quality of life my friends ;)

I find having a routine helps alot, as if I can stick to my routine, so long as I get a few things done, that sense of accomplishment helps lift my spirits. Exercise as well, which again feels like the last thing I might want to do on a day like that, making myself do it, gives enough sense of accomplishment to brighten things up a bit.

So although I am tempted to sit and write more to avoid my day...I guess I better get going

When we have trouble doing what we need to do we usually have lost the connection with the need behind it to motivate us.Forcing ourselves to do it anyway may get the job done but also increases resentment. When we feel resistance within ourselves there is a need we are not meeting. Becoming aware what the need is will motivate us and give us more choice in strategies to meet the goal. Marshall Rosenberg gave an example about driving his kids to school. The same chore every day created resentment and he was forcing himself to do it. Feeling the resistance within him he pondered on the need he was meeting by driving his kids to school. Then he remembered that he had chosen a school that gave his kids the education he wanted. This school was further away than other schools. Getting back in touch with the purpose for his choice made him feel motivated again to drive them to school with pleasure.

Another thing that might happen is that we realize that we are not meeting our needs and only have told ourselves that we “must”, “should” do something. With these thoughts we denied ourselves choice. Self-empathy helps us to be compassionate towards ourselves, to meet our needs and find other strategies to make more life fulfilling choices. Free feelings and needs charts can be downloaded from my site www.cvcn.nl to help you sort out your feelings and needs and get an understanding of Non Violent Communication by reading the examples I have mentioned under Resources.
