Isn't it reassuring to know that the FDA is monitoring the safety of GM foods? Isn't this the same agency that monitors the safety of our pharmaceutical drugs - like Vioxx and Celebrex and others that kill people because they cause much worse problems than the condition they are supposed to help?? And, isn't this the same agency that's trying their best to save us from those terrible, poisonous herbs that kill no one?? And isn't this the same agency that penalizes any company or persons that claim a food or an herb or a nutrient helps a condition? Somehow, I don't feel reassured.

I love corn, but I can't eat it anymore because I have an instant allergic reaction to it. Nuf said.

"Thank you for contacting me regarding your concerns with the quality of genetically engineered food. I appreciate hearing from you on this issue.

Current food laws require pre-market approval for food additives, whether or not they are the products of biotechnology. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), many of the food crops being developed using biotechnology contain substances that are no different from those already in the diet and thus do not require pre-market approval.

However, it is important the FDA continues to monitor the science of genetically engineered food to ensure that it remains safe. As you may know, the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002, which became Public Law No. 107-171 on May 13, 2002, contains two provisions that address the safety concerns of genetically engineered foods. The first provision authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to establish a grant program to provide the necessary funding for environmental assessment research concerning the introduction of genetically engineered animals, plants, and microorganisms into the environment. The second provision allows the Secretary of Agriculture to develop a program that communicates to the public information regarding the use of biotechnology in producing food for human consumption. The information shall include science-based evidence on the safety of foods produced with biotechnology.

Monsanto obviously either believe there is no God and that science will provide the answers - or they have an off planet bolt hole.

If there was an original sin, it was that Man believed he could improve on what God provided.....arrogance.

I consider planet earth to be a living entity, once radiantly alive (glowing with orgone?)

Physical injury has been significant, but can heal given time.

Normal pollution can likewise be recovered from once we allow her to stop 'smoking'.

But we have forced radiation upon her and thrown out the delicate balance of her fauna and flora - and now we are deliberately perpetuating genetic damage upon all life upon her, including us.

Is it not bad enough that we deny our mortality and kinship with all creatures by attempting to remove ourself from the normal cycle of life?

All other life forms come into being,live, and consume - and when they die nourish other life forms including micro-organisms. Even the stones include the bones or shells of life forms past.

We have taken our husbandry of her treasures and perverted it.

We have destroyed the balance that gives true health.

Now planet earth has a cancerous infestation, and if we do nothing she will die, and all that depend upon her.

The repercussions will likely make the Great Flood look like a quiet day in the park.

Mankind might be saved if there is true repentance - a heartfelt and enduring commitment to healing the harm that has been done, and a steadfast determination to commit no more crimes against ourselves and the planet.

Unlikely.

So- elect to be part of the planet's immuno-defense or remain part of the problem. We have a choice - the same one we have always had. If we refuse to give up the concept of ourselves as lords of creation and refuse to accept that all life upon this planet is important we will reap what we sow - and the harvest will be bitter.

The perils are not confined to the intended crops as they are NOT grown in a bubble - there is a flow on effect.

Although not all GM crops are round upready, cross pollination occurs, and insects involved in the pollination are affected - including bees.

Insectlife (of course) is harmed by the round up ready crops -and not just the insect life they are trying to kill off.

And - like antibiotic resistant strains resulting from over use of antibiotics - we now have pesticide resistant insects appearing - and they are not the friendly ones :(

All that lives is interconnected, from the tiniest one celled organism through to elephants and whales.

Global warming and industrial pollution are lesser threats.

Do not waste your time on the video links at the beginning of this blog. The videos bottom line is “we just don’t know” – sounds like a line out of Nazi Germany. The truth is we do know. We do know that God-created food is safe and has always been safe. The reason the sheeple put up with Roundup, is that they do not want to live by God’s laws. They would prefer to feed their children fake foods, concocted by mad “scientists,” approved by a corrupt government, in a land that is not one nation UNDER God, but one nation OVER God. Let us face the truth: On one day, the government tells us we need more “transparency,” and on the next day we get obfuscation. “What right do you sheeple have to know what you are eating? What is your legal ‘right to know’ these things? Who do you think you are, demanding the right to choose your medical options? You must be crazy. We’ll just have to lock you up, away from the other sheeple.”

I think the problem of knowing what is GM and what is not GM is easy. If them GM people won't label their 'food' (sic) then let the non GM label theirs.

In the UK there is a very high level of awareness of GM and its probable effects on humans and the environment. So far we have been able to prevent commercial growing here although the government has allowed some "trials". Many of the trial crops were attacked and destroyed by campaginers. A really good read is "Seeds of Doubt" published by the Soil Association. Here we have full labelling, in as much as most labels announce "GM free".

Apart from campagining, and buying only organoic food, everyone can check out where their investments are going. If everyone who invested in Monsanto stopped doing so it would severely dent their operations. The main problem is that once set free there is absolutely NO WAY that GM organisms can be recalled.

Monsanto are not only inflicting GM on the world, they are also patenting as many seeds as they can, effectively giving them a monoploy on food world-wide.

I wrote this in 2003 and it still holds good

The bible warns us that a third of the planet will be poisoned . The time period is described as the days of the great slaughter when the towers fell. The poison led to the developement of the holly grail .Now U know the rest of the story.

We have to scream about wheat. It is NOT yet genetically modified, but the invader is ready to release. We need to let bread mfrs know we won't be eating their products any more if GMO wheat becomes widespread. Maybe we can get the HFCS and other filth out of their breads at the same time.

I have "organic" hay fields adjacent to a conventional farmer's land. He grows mainly corn and soybeans and uses Roundup prior to planting. Even thlugh it is illegal for his chemicals to drift onto my property it does occur, often when the wind decides to change direction. Is it a coincidence that in my fields 3 yeas ago I found a black-eyed Susan plant with almopst white greenish-white flowers, and this year I found an albino milkweed plant and also a vareigated dogbane (practically an albino)? Albiono plants are know to occur, but I believe I'm getting more than my share. My milk cow feeds in these fields and eats the hay I make from them in winter. I wonder how my livestock (and my family!) would test for the presence of roundup. My whole purpose of living as I do is to avoid toxins in food. Am I doing the right thing? Are my albino plants an indication of a real problem?

I am a Certifed Professional Miidwife. On the International Midwifery forums we are getting postings from midwives in India, where the consumption of Monsanto GM soy groups have approached 80% of total soy consumption in just the past 5 years. Soy is a staple food in India. The experiment results in mice that show difficulties with reproduction are being seen in human birth in India now. Midwives there are reporting an escalation of premature birth, low birth weight, mortality and protein altering (which is affecting placenta condition, attachment and function). These professionals are very alarmed by what they are seeing. So there is human experimentation going on a large scale in India....but no one is saying anything. It is easy to say these reports are not controlled studies and therefore subjective reports, but when you hear them over and over by professionals who are begging for data so that they can do something, it has a pretty powerful emotional impact.

I was reading somewhere that GM foods are most likely the cause of behavioral problems, especially fast foods. Change of diet makes a change in behavior and outlook on life. Why is Monsanto, et al, all trying to modify us, and keep us from being normal? Normal, as in what God intended us to be??
