Looks like they blacked out Jeffery Smiith's video from viewing but he has a website that is still up www.seedsofdeception.com/.../index.cfm. I've been emailing tihis article to family and friends this morning and thank you all for your comments as well as Dr. Mercola. This came right when i was looking for more infomation on GMO foods. I have stopped buyimg produce from the markets for the past year unless they also carry produce from local growers., but have been wanting to do more and learn more.

Part of the genetically modified process is the use of SLIME MOLD as an organism to carry the new genetic material into seed host. None of the writers or scientists interviewed have mentiioned this. Slime mold enters the food chain in those crops that Jeffery Smith mentions as being genetically modified. What does Slime mold do in your body you may well ask? Once in your blood, it slimes its way around your blood cells and sucks the antioxidants and nutrients from the blood cells leaving them dead and unviable. Think of all the milliions of blood cells your body has. Lack of antioxidants and nutrients will lead to fatigue, dry eyes, skin changes, hormonal changes, ect. How do I know? Despite eating what I thought was a healthy diet of salads, vegetables, fish, no meat, some cheeses, I was fatigued, had dry eyes and hormonal changes.

I went to see my natuapathic doctor and she found my blood was covered in Slime mold. Her comment was that she sees this slime mold in most all of her patients. One such patient was a genetist who worked for Monsanto, and he had been to various doctors and none could diagnose him, and he was very sick. When my doctor saw his blood and said it was all covered in slime mold. The genetist told her that was what the genetists used to carry new DNA matierial into new food seed. Hence, as the food crop grows the slime mold is also in every cell of that crop. Soy, corn and cotton seed being the worse crops. Now think of all the food derivitives that those crops are used in.

If you want to have your blood tested, you must go to someone that uses a 14,000 magnification microscope, ie a Bradford microscope, and that someone is educated and knowledgeable in identifiying all the many organisms that will be see. Very few naturapaths or alternative doctors have this microscope. There are only about a 1000 worldwide, used by research scientists. Medical doctors, hospitals and most labs do not have it.

No, much GMO as it is practised by Corporations today is not always the same as what you did in ag. college...

parts of DNA from completely different 'species' are forced into parts of DNA from another 'species'...This practice would NOT happen in nature at all - maybe that wouldn't matter to a lot of people...But, as one writer pointed out above....Corporations are pattening these new 'life forms' to take control of the food supply...This is really serious stuff, and should not be brushed off lightly....Air, Water, and Food must stay in the realm of 'the commons'...belonging to the people...This is what is right if you believe in health, justice, and a good way of life that promotes self reliance, and community care and involvement....

In at least fifteen states the corporations have already gotten to the legistatures, and they have passed legislation that does NOT allow communities to vote on gmo issues...This is another example of the oppression of the democratic process....Of, THE PEOPLE being oppressed and not given a voice in the matter....This is exactly what our founding fathers fought AGAINST!

"Seeds of Deception" is a remarkably eye opening book - a must read for everyone.

It all makes me wonder... Understanding the FDA has manipulated data and scientific evidence, thus allowing toxins into our food source, what are these people eating and feeding their own children? I think someone should investigate; maybe sift through their garbage. I'd really like to know what's in their frig.

The genetic modifications you refer to are NOT the same as adding/modifying genes from a totally different organism...maybe a virus, insect or other plant species etc

and if the difference elludes you ...I suggest you do a little more research!:)

Have you watched the video? Jeffrey Smith's argument is that it is quite likely to be the PROCESS (shooting genes into the DNA) that is causing the problems. Your method is natural, theirs is not!

There is another very good reason for resisting GMO in addition to health concerns and is this: You cannot patent a naturally occuring organism. Anyone, for instance can grow and sell tomatoes but if someone creates a special genetically modified tomato, they own the right to it. Only they can sell it for whatever they can get. If this special tomato crowds out all the natural varieties then there is only one place to go for your tomatoes and then watch the price rise! It is easy to see why such a scenario is attractive to the big food corporations. If they play their cards right they can make the kind of obscene profits the drug companies make.

Control and profits is what this is all about, not cheap food. Quite the reverse. The big corporations already have enough control over our lives, don't let them control your food supply. Here is the UK we resisted the introduction of GMO foods but we wouldn't buy them, the supermarkets had to stop selling them and the government had to stop trying to force them down our throats. You in the US must do the same not only for your helath but for your freedom to choose what to eat.

This is not to excuse the creation of "mule" crops that produce only infertile seed creating a dependence on Agribu$ine$$ and other overtly greed-driven behaviors.

I grew up in a ag-college town where we would spend our summers selecting wheat for shorter stalks and heavier heads, that took less fertilizer and less water to grow, that were more resistant to blight and rust and other diseases that kill millions of people annually through crop failure and starvation. That was absolutely as much genetic modification as is currently practiced, only what took decades to accomplish then can be done in a few years today. That I had a hand in helping create something that has without doubt saved millions is not something I will apologize for.

Do not throw the baby out with the bathwater here. The miracle of life is in it's continuing evolution and adaptation. That we can direct that evolution and adaptation to the benefit of all is our gift. That it is used as a tool of greed is our curse. But do not confuse process with behavior. Everytime you choose a Braeburn over a Red delicious apple, you create an influence to plant more Braeburn trees and less Delicious trees. And every time you pick the biggest and reddest ones you are creating a genetic influence that impacts which strains of Braeburn apples are developed. Like it or not every food choice you make, commercial or local, or in your own backyard, is directly or indirectly a choice that is ultimately helps genetically modify the food supply.

When I read this I wondered if GMO was the most serious issue to our health/environment.

"Under the Bush new Police State, freedom of speech and assembly have been replaced with arrest and detention. The new presidential signing statements , give the govt. the freedom to declare anyone an enemy combatant or terrorist and intimidate and arrest anyone who protests anything this government is doing, without due process of law (HABEAS CORPUS). It's happening all over the country and will only get worse when Bush declares Martial Law and opens the detention camps to us citizen who protest in any way, the fascist dictatorship that has beCOME theocratic America. The ACLU has it's work cut out for itself, but it will be like shoveling coal against the tide.

I'm no expert, but in the UK we have fought off this sickness called GMO as far as possible.

It keeps comiong bacK though. Even organic foods can't be certified below(I think) 0.9% contamination by GMO due to leaching across plant boundaries.

Modified starch is in a lot of stuff-and recently the broader issue has been raised again for consideration.'They' are persistent...so should opponents be the same.

Gov'ts have been lax over asbestos,nuclear waste from tests,flouride in water ( THE most precious commodity on the 'good' earth') and smoking risks for decades. What's new?

PS I have a cigar sometimes...my risk , btw!

The only good thing is we don't have 1000's killed every day as in WW1 - but I doubt the dead/ injured from then would have fought for our current system- had they known what the legacy would be.

Nanny (corporate) state climbs into every aspect of our lives these days..and the only defence is for people to deal for themselves- or be used .

It's hard work ,fighting back- but go to it people !!

Do any of the readers have micro chips in their animals? Besides the GMO attacks on farmers and consumers, they are also looking at the possibility of forced Animal Identification and human identification. NAIS should alarm everyone. If USDA is allowed to continue with NAIS, small/private farmers, homesteaders, hobbyists will drop their animals like hot potatoes. Some have already, sadly, preferring to give up their animals rather than fight. All of these issues are connected. It begs a much larger social question. Can we form communities around our farmers to protect them and our food sources? Is cooperative intentional community the direction we need to move? While I believe all the suggestions are a great start, I don't think we can stop there. Our way of living and thinking must change and it must change to include "the other" The other's point of view out of compassion. In community with and for each other. Farmers need our help or buying local/organic won't be an option. A final thought: "Even evil must serve the good. It takes a stand against the working of the divine and yet it cannot do otherwise than intensify, through resistance, the effectiveness of the good".

I am viewing this from Central Canada.

I also watched the video regarding GMO's and the corporate deception.

For a hundred thousand years farmers have developed their high grade seeds by natural selection. This is a massive amount of work by many millions of people.

By government decree Monsato and others can come along and literally blast a genetic change (accident) in a grain crop (for example) and steal (massive theft) the work of a hundred thousand years of agricultural work and claim it as their own "patented" product.

This as a TREASON of the worst kind.

Governments (selected by people) must put a stop to it.

We must all become much more informed.

Thank you for this site and the opportunity to say a few words.

I have been quite active in this kind of discourse for a number of years. My retirement time will allow me to do much more.

Having dealt with a mysterious, undiagnosable but disabling "autoimmune disorder" over the last year and a half, I do wonder how much of my illness was caused by GMO's and other environmental toxins. It most likely messed with my DNA, causing my own cells to attack each other....causing my connective tissue (what makes up all our organs!) to harden. The basic MO of all auto-immunity is in the anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) found easily in a routine blood lab, if you request it. It's our body developing an attack organism flowing in our blood targeted toward the nucleus of our own otherwise "healthy" cells. In coming years, will research point to GMO's being the culprit behind this nuclear shift in our bodies?

Since going pure organic and veggie juicing heavily (as well as going gluten-free, changing cook-ware, doing a heavy metal detox, supplements, etc) I have seen my symptoms lift, and better yet, my bloodwork has returned with no evidence of auto-immunity whatsoever. My mainstream docs had predicted I'd be dead in 2-5 years. No--I'd only be dying if I was still eating the usual mainstream American diet. I wonder what they're eating?

While reading articles on smoking and the health crisis smoking presented, I see many comparasions. For too many years our great protector, "The Government," never so much as opened it's mouth for a number of years. Yet people were loosing their health, as well as life itself, and the government remained silent. So I guess even now governmental silence is for the greater good, which is to say we are expendable. We the people are the lab rats, and Con-Agra, Tyson, and the rest laugh all the way to the bank.

Deception is something that works very well, and we as citizens do not have a voice. These giant corporations create commercials to tell us we are safe, and GMOs present no true harm, while at the same time people are becoming victims of never before seen illnesses, or illnesses without an apparent cause. Such as lung cancer, and heart disease, caused by smoking, and the Tobacco Industry continued to say there was no direct cause that could be connected to any illness and smoking, that could be found, and proven. Are we not faced with the same set of circumstances? Are we not being told the exact same LIE by those who advocate GMOs?

Tyson is now telling us via packaging labels their chickens are natural, no hormones, antibiotics, or steroids. Notice there is no GMO disclaimer. Something smells here. Then there is the fight to keep foods from being labeled as such. Never mind many of our so called trading partners refuse to do business with companies who use GMO foods. Even starving Africa refuses these "Franken Foods."

The informed need to get the word out, to the uninformed, and the world. This is the next big health crisis, preventable health crisis. So read, and speak out tell everyone you know beware "The Franken Food," and this is no joke.

If you have the land, grow you own food, if not research and find good honest Organic Farmers as a food source. The lives of ourselves, our families, and friends are at stake, make some noise.
