My son is now 2 1/2 yrs old. I let him have the first round of shots at 3 months (!!!) & he cried all day. My mom told me about Mercola's site & a few others. I started reading; I kept finding more & more information & I really began to dig into it. By the time my son's next round of shots came up at 4 months, I was informed & had told my husband everything I had learned. He looked horrified & agreed to no more shots. Our doctor was understanding, polite & didn't give us the "I know best" attitude. She was good about it, until she had her own baby & really began to push us telling us she felt they were safe for her baby, hoping that would reassure us. I didn't need reassuring, I just didn't need my son full of poison. We moved out of state not long after his last appointment & he hasn't seen a doctor in over a year & 1/2. I had one semester of college (I picked the wrong one & ended up not finding another) but that doesn't mean I'm a stupid sheep. There is knowledge out there for those who look for it. I've met a few other parents that haven't vax'd their kids & they have all come across the attitude that they must be uninformed & ignorant. Some are college educated professionals, others are like me. They have all told me the problems they've faced & how people sometimes treat them. I would like to put my son into a part time daycare because he needs the interaction & there aren't many kids in our neighborhood. I look forward to the challenge I know I'm going to face with an unvaccinated child. But it is MY decision, not the State's, to keep my child shot-free. What's happening in Maryland right now is frightening; throwing parents into jail or fining them for not poisoning their kids is wrong on so many levels. I'm across the state line in PA, what happens there may soon happen here. The State will not tell me what's best for my child.

For the record, I'm an Independant voting for Ron Paul. He's the best of the bunch, on any side.

Along the same line as the very convincing and disturbing thoughts shared, please keep in mind the harm inflicted on pets by pet vaccines. Most vets will encourage you to vaccinate yearly or at least every 3 years, depending on what state you live in, which is unnecessary for your pet but a moneymaker for your vet. The rabies vaccine is the ONLY vaccine which is legally required in any state, and it should be given as little as possible because of all the bad side effects. There's plenty of evidence pointing to the link between autoimmune disease caused by vaccinating your pet, and my own pets suffered this firsthand when they were overvaccinated due to the faith I placed in my vet. They immediately suffered from severe dermatitis, and other allergy symptoms. One of my dogs came down with an autoimmune disease which caused him great suffering and I know was from overvaccination. Some pets will even go into shock and die following their vaccinations, particularly the rabies vaccine, and the rabies vaccine in cats is well known to cause a deadly kind of sarcoma. So use great restraint when it comes to these vaccinations, do the research on the net, and get your pets a homeopathic vet. (Dogs shouldn't be vaccinated with rabies until their immune systems are fully developed, which is between the age of 6 to 9 months, and multiple vaccines should never ever be given to a pet at one time, which is customarily done. Again, if you love your pet, do the research and do not listen to the typical misinformed, greedy veterinarian.)

yey, people are putting fewer deadly chemicals into their children's bodies! I laughed at the argument that unvaccinated children could spread the diseases to others. Isn't the point of vaccination supposed to be that the "others" exposed to disease would be immune? and if they aren't then what is the point ti vaccination? their argument against not vaccinating shatters the argument for vaccinating. do these people actually listen to themselves?

I regret that I had my son go through most of this inoculation rubbish. We have experienced a number of problems and to tell you the truth, I do not rely on the doctors in my area any longer. I have spent hours trying to undo what doctors have done. I could find a veterinarian that could help me more than any doctor in my area. It is disgusting how they corral people like animals. The government is not looking out for us. Thank You Thank You Dr. Mercola for protecting us in every way possible. I try to send this information to others and they think I am crazy. Well, if that's what they call it I can settle. I rather be crazy and right then comatose and wrong. Most of America can not walk after they are 35-40 years old. They move like snails. Just look at the fruits this medical profession has grown. It is not good at all. The only doctors that will listen to you are the ones that know if they don't listen they will lose you all together. The almighty dollar rules over everything these days. Thank you again Dr. Mercola.

Patty D.---about their being penalties being imposed --in Michigan, the public schools are being imposed penalties for every student that is not vaccinated. Now they have made the school the parent? I don't think so! It's the parents right to choose whether or not to vaccinate and one can only wonder what the schools may do because of penalties imposed for parents not vaccinating--I think the day is right around the corner when there will be punishements for just that

As a mother of 8 children, I dutifully followed the vaccine schedule for our first 2 children--right to the tee. But when our first born and fourth born boys both developed convulsions after a dtp, the health dept. themselves told me it was caused by the vaccine and that they couldn't understand it happening twice in the same family! Duh---there are toxins in the vaccine that will make them sick. After that I stopped all vaccinations, have endured a barrage of nurses at my children's dr. appts. trying to force me to vaccinate. I homeschool them to keep them out of the public sewage tanks of America that are called "school". Luckily, here in Michigan we have both philosophical and religious exemptions or I probably would have had CPS on my doorstep. But they are breathing down our necks as homeschoolers---I received this from a vaccine info newsletter that I get that keeps my up to date on the latest news and disasters relating to vaccination. It's at vaccineEthics.org where someone has proposed that it is "ethically appropriate and legally justifiable" to force all homeschoolers to comply with vaccination.

The word 'sorceries' appears 5 times in the King James Version of the Bible. People are deceived by their sorceries!

God gave us His eight laws of health, and the origional diet for smooth running of the human body, in the Garden of Eden! Take note that after the fall in the Garden, life expectancy was about 980 years! Then, following the flood meat was added to the diet. Life expectancy was diminished to about 700 years. Then, unclean foods were added to the diet and life expectancy was diminished further and today it is about 70 years. Is there as corrolation in our foods, what we fuel the body with? I think so. The origional diet consisted of seeds, fruit, nuts. Vegetables were added after the fall when Adam had to start tilling the land to grow food.

In my area (Central Michigan), a program was begun by two men (one a physician) that incorportates God's eight laws of health, with the acronym START NEW. Sunshine, Temperance, Air, Rest, Trust in God, Nutrition, Exercise, Water.

The Start New program has much success with people reducing and eliminating medications for many different afflictions such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, heart disease, cancer, to name a few.

For those who want help in formulating an affidavit for your right to refuse immunizations for your children and the laws for each state go to : www.nvic.org. This center is located in washington D.C. and will also provide you with an enormous amount of information to make the decision not to immunize. I have 3 children who have never been immunized and I never will. I am a pediatric nurse and I have cared for children who have been severely damaged due to vaccines, particularly, DPT and MMR. No school has ever denied my children the right to attend as long as I gave them the affidavit citing the actual state law allowing me to refuse. By the way, I have had measles, mumps, and rubella as a preschooler. I was also a Preemie, born at 28wks in 1965. So did my brother and he was also a preemie. I have also had chicken pox as an adult. My 3 children can attest to the fact that I am not sterile. I have no lasting effects from these illnesses except lifelong immunity! What the doctors fail to tell you is that you cannot get lifelong immunity from a vaccine. You can get a mutation of the disease that is more severe and difficult to treat with more complications. More Polio cases among adults are happening as a direct result of parents immunizng their children and then contracting it from them. The doctors never tell you that the Polio virus is excreted in their urine and bowel movements for as long as 6 months after getting the vaccine! Since the parents are not immune they contract it from changing their diapers.

I have four children. Twenty years ago when my wife was expecting our first child, I did what research I could about vaccines. I decided there was no way my child was going to get any of them.

For over ten years as a result of the decision we did not have a doctor for them. No one would take them as patients if we would not vaccinate them. That was fine! I was afraid of being pushed into drugs and antibiotics. All four of them did fine with proper nutrition, supplements and prayer! We home schooled for many years and when we had to put them in school we took a religious exemption - the only option we had. My church is not against vaccinations, but I did pray and believe I was doing the right thing. My children did get peruses, but they did just fine. We had no doctor to bring them too and again they did fine.

Recently my son was attacked and scratched my his cat. My X-wife brought the cat to the Vet. who advised her to put the cat to sleep. They did not send the head to the board of health to be tested for rabies and the cat was cremated. I did not know that the board of health wanted the head. A month later I was called at work. DYFS was coming to his mothers home. Basically we were told to get post rabies shots for my son or they would get a court order and could have my son removed from our home. The one option I had was to find a Doctor who said he did not need the shots -- forget it! They even went to all three of my children’s schools and interviewed each one with out our knowledge to see if there was any abuse. This was because we did not get my son the shots and the board of health reported us.

I argued with the man from DYFS for four hours. He was sympathetic. He had not had his 19 month old daughter vaccinated! But! The bottom line was -- get the shots or else! I asked for a week to research and make an intelligent decision. They said only if a doctor would give us permission to wait a week! Forget it! No Dr. was going to take that risk. So…after 17 years of having no shots I had to take my son to the hospital to get the shots. I asked the Dr. there if there was any Thimerosal in the shots and she said, “what is that?” After all the hours of arguing and threats and no money for legal battles or a doctor to back me up…I caved! I am somewhat ashamed of myself! But on top of everything else going on my life I was not up for another battle and possibly lose my children for a time.

Incidentally their mother recently brought them to a pediatrician for a school physical and after doing the physical and being paid for it, the Dr decided a few days later not to forward the report to the school because we refused to get them vaccinated!

This whole thing is very scary. When there was a (erroneously) reported case of German Measles in the school they made my children stay home from school because they were not vaccinated. I didn’t care…they were young at the time and I was happy to have them home! I spoke to someone in the school and on a state level and said that if the shots work, then my children are a threat to no one. They could not think outside their brain-washed boxes!

It is very disturbing to think the government demands we put these poisons into our babies blood streams!!!! I know of friends’ children who were hurt by the shots. One severely! And it was not until I told them to ask their doctors if it could be from the shots that the doctors told them it was possible and they should not get any more DPTs! There is no way we are getting accurate statistics of the side effects of these shots. No way! All very disturbing.

So, answer me this, do these vaccinations work, or not? If they do, how can someone who has taken the vaccine be put at risk by someone who didn't?
