Here is the email I wrote to the PDA (I live in Pittsburgh):

I am completely opposed to the legislation being considered where labels on milk products alerting consumers that they are rBGH, rBST, antibiotic, and pesticide free would be banned. I am not quite sure where Mr. Wolff gets his information about consumers being confused over the labels from, but every consumer I know who has at least somewhat of an education certainly can read AND understand a label clearly indicating a product is free of certain elements! I value this label information as a parent and health-conscious consumer of natural and organic milk and dairy products. I have alerted all of my family and friends here in PA about this issue as well and they all stand with me in supporting the right to be informed about the products we are consuming and their additives. If this ban goes through, I and my family and friends will be boycotting all PA milk products not labeled and crossing state lines to purchase them elsewhere if necessary or substituting a milk alternative for them. I am sure PA milk sales will drop noticeably if this ban goes through because there are many others like myself out there who are diametrically opposed to hiding the information we as consumers have a right to know and being unsure of a milk products treatment and additives.

Sorry, but I live in the southern part of NJ. I have no access to attaining raw milk. So, my question is how are we supposed to buy raw milk when we can't even get it here where we live?? We drink organic, pasturized milk because we have no CHOICE. So kudos to everyone who can buy raw milk or is lucky enough to own a cow that you can milk.

See this is what I mean by the American people being asleep at the wheel. We are too worried about Hollyweird, and we pay too little attention to what our so called government is doing. If anyone thinks this change is going to stop with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, then you are about to be sold a very famous bridge spanning the Hudson River in New York City.

I just finished reading all the comments and basically agree with them. HOWEVER, my openmindedness to everything I hear/read has to give SOME merit to the 'confused' aspect of the "doesn't contain... " labeling of products.

In a pinch this TG I sent my husband to the store for mushrooms for gravy, and he had to get cans. On the front of the label it states "0 % Trans Fats". Now, I am not a 'newbie' to all this health stuff, but this statement confuses ME!!! I can't recall particulars right now, but in the past I have noticed similar labeling on other products. Regardless, it seems that the vast majority of label info -- ingredients, percentages, and nutrition information -- listed on labels IS confusing.

So, the point I would like to make is that I think the real campaigning we must do to the 'powers that be' should be aimed toward requiring foods to be labeled -- and more clearly understandable -- as to what they DO contain, not what they don't. .

What has happened to the "wise"? Give us pure, unadulterated milk, please, or "let us know where we can get it." I believe that a major cause of obesity in America is due to hormones fed to animals to "plump them up."

This is so sad. There are only 2 farms close to my house and they say they use a 60/40 ratio of grass to grain feed. Do you think I can consume this milk and still be eating healthy? My only thought is that I love dairy and at least this milk is raw!

(Cont'd) I've always been rational and a realist and as a physicist and a physics major in college, we didn't accept that which could not be proven with the scientific method and examined with the senses, though I always strongly believed in God as did Einstien.

Little Red Hen and everyone..what's REALLY going on is something that most would never beleive, but it's true nonetheless. What's happening is a corruption of the Spirit of man by an unseen but nearly all pervasive and extremely powerful spiritual force of immense hatred and evil. The dark force has been on earth for thousands of years and it's goal is to destroy ALL of mankind in any way, shape or form it can.

It knows that food is a VITAL necessity to humans. The more nutrient dead, corrupt, degenerative and destructive our "food" is, the dumber we get and easier to control. Were also then unable to see through this system of contrl and the veil that has been spread over all the nations. Just like in the matrix, were not living in TRUE reality of the mind, but a deception of worldwide proportions that right now very few are able to see through.

I find it interesting that those who are more into natural foods, exercise, supplements, breathing and many other natural lifestyles are the ones that SEE through these deceptions, while the masses and the majority are the ones that are always deceived.

I grew up as a science nutt, being into physics, science, geology, astronomy and more. Later I began to get into martial arts and chi-gung, breathing and meditation and the things of the spirit became totally real and powerful and I use spirit and energy to treat and heal friends, students and myself time and time again. It's REAL and Powerful!!

This dark spirit is called Satan the devil and while most people laugh and scorn at such a thing, the Chinese knew also that there were demons and spirit, but not in the typical sense. They didn't know that they were fallen angels, but Chinese Gung-fu and chi-gung were developed not only to protect health and for fighting physical foes, but spiritual enemies and demons as well.

I liked the person who gave the address of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture so that you can write them. Yes! FLOOD them with e-mails to convince them to reconsider their decision. Finally, KEEP THE FAITH. Site such as Mercola's give me great hope that we can indeed turn the tide of unconscionable corporate control over our health and well-being.

Good grief! This change of labeling is being pushed through because of "confused consumers?"

Well my husband is confused about the differenced between "control top" and "sheer energy" pantyhose. Or the difference between "long, super-absorbancy" and "slender long, super-absorbancy" sanitary products (which are far from "sanitary," but that's a whole 'nother topic--LOL--when is Dr. Mercola going to extol the virtues of resuable menstrual products?). Does that mean that the government should step in and mandate how those products may or may not be labeled? NO! It meant that he needed to get a bit more educated in order to run errands for me. Ditto on the milk. If the government wants to make any move, why not make some leaflets to (mis)educate consumers about the artificial growth hormone issue. Then let consumers make their own choice.
