I went through the paperwork in Ohio to exempt two of my children. Every year I had to listen to the school nurse tell me that if there is a case of measles in the area that my children will not be allowed into school for weeks! I opted out anyhow. My two daughters never missed any school because of this. It was something I had to insist upon. I had to file the paperwork every year. At that time the school nurse would reluctantly send me the form. After about 10 years I no longer got the yearly lecture.

There are more reasons to refuse vaccinations and this is a new discovery of mine from research I have been doing. VACCINATIONS CAUSE FOOD ALLERGIES! Vaccinations have trace amounts of food protein in them from the culture mediums AND from the oils used in the vaccine adjuvants. It can be a mixture of oils: peanut, sesame, soy, wheat germ, lupin, evening primrose oil, fish oil, mink oil, shellfish oil..... These ingredients do not have to be listed on the package insert. They are protected as a trade secret.

Doesn't this easily explain the 3 month old who was breastfed and suddenly has shellfish and peanut allergies? And it also explains the epidemic of soy, peanut and sesame allergies in vaccinated children in industrialized nations.

It's not just vaccines you need to be concerned with for kids. Monsantto has a hormone product that people might be aware of called Posilac rbgh.

In addition to hormones used to increase milk production, there are six hormones approved for use in beef cattle. Two of these hormones, estradiol and zeranol, are likely to have negative human health effects, including cancer and impacts on child development, when their residues are present in meat. Concerns about these potential health impacts have left many scientists doubtful of the safety of hormone use in meat production.

This is the part about vaccines that I've never understood... if they work so well, why are the vaccinated people afraid of the unvaccinated ones?

I've looked long and hard at this issue and have decided that our next child will not be vaccinated. Sure there's a low likelyhood of anything bad happening, but if there's even one chance in a million that my child will be hurt, that's too much of a risk for me to take.

As the father of an amazing 5 year old little girl, my wife and I have also decided to move out of the country if they ever make Gardasil mandatory. There's no way in the world I'm injecting that poison into my beautiful little angel.

This news story horrifies me! The MMR triggered my son's autism in 1986 at 15 months---I knew this long before any MMR/autism "theories" had surfaced in newsprint.

But Dr. Mercola, please correct your stats---in the late 1980's autism was already reported as 1 in 2000 (not 1 in 10,000). I even have an old brochure from the 80's that says 4-5 in 10,000. By 1993 they were still officially using the outdated numbers, but reality was probably about 1 in 1000.

Also, Dr. Mercola's statement, "The mandatory immunizations program and the MMR vaccine were introduced in 1998" is not accurate. The MMR vaccine was introduced in the early 1980's---my oldest child was vaccinated with the MMR in 1984 and it was already a standard on the schedule. And, in our state, the vaccines on the then schedule were already mandatory in 1988 for my children to enter the public school system. I didn't even know I had the option of an exemption until 1996 when I refused the MMR booster for my son with autism.

Still, I sincerely appreciate the attention given this story. Dr. Mercola's ongoing information has saved many a child from autism.

I found a company that has a great product that will counter vaccines. We used it on my 20-year-old daughter after she took a meningitis vaccine. The clinic looked at her shot record and told her that 3 of the prior vaccines were done wrong. THEY GAVE HER 4 VACCINES one after another...

SHE PASSED OUT!!!

One year later after learning about this home-based company and their natural health products, she came down with a "mysterious" illness. With 8 or the 9 symptoms of menigitis, I took her to the emergency room. But after using several of the company products and techniques for 2 days the tests at the ER were negative. The ER doctor would not do a spinal tap becasue he said that if it was meningitis she would be dead. They sent her home with symptoms they said were "stress" related (in her head) but they could not explain the 103 degree temp.

My sister, an RN believed she had meningitis. Those who know how vaccines work believe it. I found a website of survivors from bacterial meningitis...now I am convinced she had it.

Funny I should come across this today. Our dd just entered high school this year after being home schooled all the prior years. A week ago I got an e-mail from the school on vaccinations and I felt panic coming on since we hadn't done vaccinations. Life got busy and I forgot about it for a while, then they called and I really wanted to hang up, but I told her we hadn't done any and she said "that's fine, there's an opt out box to check and then it's done." I just turned it in today. I told her I have had so much flack from people about my health choices for my family that I fully expected problems when this came up, but she was great and gave me no problem. I really hate to have that info. out there, though; it makes me nervous. I haven't had to worry about that for 14 years and it was nice.

As another person mentioned, homeopathy is a good choice.

That's pretty scary that leukemia came of after a hepatitis vaccine. I know of a 6 yr. old who was just diagnosed with it and I wonder if vaccines contributed. I also wonder if that's part of my oldest child's health problems. She had a few vaccines when she was young.

I feel that kids are vaccinated at such a young age that the parents don't have a chance to see what their state of health is like, so they don't tend to connect problems to the shots. Mine was around 6 or so before she had the few she did.

Did everyone overlook the last paragraph of the article, the Attorney General Ivey who is forcing this action opted out his own children. He is saying it's OK to posion other children but not mine. He needs to be taken to court and charged with use of a deadly weapon against children!

ALL states in the US have informed consent (and informed refusal). ALL states have medical exemptions. Because we still have separation of church & state (somewhat?), ALL states have religious exemptions. And, nobody from The State can (legally) ask you about your religion. Homeschool regulations vary widely from state to state, but it is legal in every state. Homeschooling may or may not relieve you of the "requirement" to vaccinate, however. The chiropractors I know would be willing to sign a medical exemption form.

Would I do 10 days in jail to protect my kids' health? Hell yeah. But it should NEVER come to that, not in this "free" country. (and, would they vax my kids while I was away?)

I hope there's a lawsuit.

Vaccinate, that is an order. Someone has to keep "Big Pharma" out of the poorhouse. This is just how much ground we have lost in the way of freedom. Chicken pox, measles, and mumps, never killed any one until Big Pharma started selling that snake oil. As for Small pox, now that is a horse of a different color. A solution is not at hand, because I have read reports that indicate people in developing countries have gone on inspite of vaccines to develope this deadly disease.

As for jailing people for choosing not to risk our children's health and well being strikes of Mao, Hitler, or Stalin. This is supposed to be the United States. In this country people are supposed to have freedom. Why then are we arresting people for exercising ones right to choose.

If you think the shots are mandatory you're a damn fool. There's no way the state, the folks in the medical profession nor any schoold administrative representative would expose themsleves to legal repercussions involved with mandating administration of any drug. You gotta understand the legal (criminal?) mindset. Whenever they can't provide themselves with an "out" they must provide an out for the recipient of the "help"(even if it is never shown them) otherwise they'd be liable in the event of injury. They won't open themselves to that.

The problem here is government involvement in people's lives over and above the "call of duty". And when they go beyond the "consent of the governed", it becomes a matter of insolence.
