But real disease is not at all what the original author was talking about and anyone reading this forum should understand that (I would hope). It surprises me that anyone would take personal offense. There are simply way too many people taking unecessary prescription drugs period.

The way I see it, if a person has not tried extensive nutritional and physical therapies before trying conventional drugs, they have cheated themselves from a potential cure. I know many people who have medical problems and take prescription drugs - none of them are cured from their original symptoms.

You see we have lost our way, and the medical establishment along with "Big Pharma" is there to show us our way. The saying "knowledge is power," has never rang more true. We need to on our own reaquire the knowledge about the simple things, things we have lost after the "Brainwashing" which takes place in many of our Universities, and the media these days. Less reliance we on what many of us call "Common Sense," and more reliance on someone's theory, or theories. We need to be in a position to say no to so much intrusion by government, the brainwashing of television and the like, give direction to our children, and not buying and using a product on someones elses say so. That is without all the brainwashing, but because we have a proven product.

In this day and time we see how government is upset over "Home Schooling," and right now in some states trying to ban it all together. Why? Basically to dumb us all down so there can be no rational decisions, about what car you drive, or what food you eat. AUTOMATONS. You think?

Ageing IS a disease. How can you say there are no risks? In 100% of all cases thus far, ageing has been fatal! It's that simple. Ageing is definately natural, but why people feel that makes it acceptable is beyond me. Ageing isn't old people's fault, and if they want to embrace it, then hey, masochism is fine, but seriously I'm tired of people acting like it's actually healthy. It is the degredation of health, the advance of disorder, the invasion of entropy. We should be fighting it, even if it requires employing unnatural means. Better unnatural than dead, I think.

As a chiropractic student in the uk i have to learn quite a bit of this stuff (not what i signed up for). i joined up to help people what did these guys show up for? It's not just greedy, but also criminal. These psychiatric lables don't peel off and it's often hard to undo the effects of their treatments. ECT anyone? Still goes on here in the UK. It's just inhumain treatment to man. I wonder if before TV when we could still hold a proper conversation and had an attention span there was less mental illness because people could talk things over with one another. Works fine in my house.

Things need to change, hopefully articles like this will help shake things up abit.

You are what you ingest. This is NOT to put the blame on you, but the chemicals, toxins, illegal drugs and poisons in vaccinations and Rx from the 'drug' store. Past generations didnt have problems like this one does. Think about it before you become irate and scream and rant. You could the problem, not your kids.

I was diagnosed with ADD (called hyperactivity then) at the age of 6. I am now 35. The family Doc treated me with ritalin. My Mother was concerned about medicating me during my develomental years, and was concerned with the obvious side affects (mood swings, etc) of the medication. She ended up flushing the pills down the loo! My treatment plan was as follows: NO processed food at all. Absolutely NO corn syrup, NO refined sugar. NO MSG. It is true that stimulants do have the opposite affect on those with ADD - So hot black tea was served to me at breakfast.

The other thin we did is to always keep a STRICT daily routine. It worked. It took a while; but, I survived. An elementary school counselor told her I would be a good candidate for an institution. Ha! I graduated with honors from high school, a top college, and completed post-grad!

I have to admit while I was working on my Master's and was out of Mom's web - a doc precribed Adderal to me. It was great for a few weeks. A quick fix! But, the side affects were again terrible. Mom was right. I still follow her plan, and practice mind/body excercises like yoga. And it works. It is not always easy. I encourage all of you to investigate this treatment plan!

You are, as usual, right on target with your comments, so much so, that you are within the time line of a new paradigm of medical knowledge. A Dr. med. Mag. theol. Ryke Geerd Hamer of Germany has tried to have his re-discovery of 5 Biological Laws checked out by his university, Tuebingen, in 1981, but they refuse to officially verify his findings, perhaps on orders from a certain religious group, which, by the way has instructed their doctors to treat 'their own people' according to his findings with a 98% success rate.

Cancer is being created and cured by the psyche (mind) through the brain and is a Significant Biological Special Program, designed to help an organism survive; after the first phase of this two phase program is no longer required, healing takes place, which makes one fatigued and ache, but one has a good appetite again.

When my oldest daughter was struggling in college with her upper division courses, she knew how I felt about medicating young, developing minds so she sought my opinion. At that point I told her she was a grown woman and I had done what I believed was best for her. Now she had to do what she believed would be in her best interests. I just told her to be sure and do her own research. The college's psychiatrist gave her an exam that showed she was on the outer limits of the charts for ADHD. This same doctor commented that she could not believe that my daughter had never been medicated and also asked if it was true that her mother, me, was the same and had never been medicated. My daughter stated it was all true. Later my daughter decided to control her inability to focus because she could not sit still long enough with more exercise on a daily basis as well as adhering to a better, more wholesome diet. She graduated and is successful in her profession.

My son had ADD and everyone wanted to medicated him. I refused. It was not easy and we had to seek much outside help with his learning disabilities. I still believe we did what was best looking back. He is 20 and just really, now starting to come into his own.

My opinion is that we are medicating the uniqueness out of people. ADHD people, like myself, are risk takers with lots of creative abilities. We are the entrepreneurs, the sales people, the artists, the musicians and sometimes the scientist who see a different future. As we level society with meds to make everyone the same, we are losing an important component. Instead we need to teach compensating skills to those "who are not the same".
