Humor is a wonderful healer. Those that can find humor even in the strangest places are the ones with phenomial coping abilities and are usually very healthy individuals--mind-body-spirit. I thank God for my sense of humor and the humor that is found before us in even the most tragic of situations. Having worked in the medical profession for the past 25 years, I can assure you the best and most competent caregivers are those with a sense of humor.

I was a nurse for 36 years and I believe all these stories could easily be true. I could tell you a few stories criner and lilac...you'd do more than write a comment, you'd probably have a coronary. The world of medicine is not always pretty but you do have to keep your sense of humor. It helps. Otherwise, I don't think I would have lasted as a nurse for 36 years.

I liked the jokes and I bet most are true. Most of us have had funny experiences at work that are similar. I had a friend that had a very funny experience in the ER but I can't tell it here, specially if someone is offended by a flatulence joke.

Will someone pull my finger please? OOPS, sorry!

The jokes were great and came at the right time.

I thought these were pretty funny. I have heard/seen jokes from world famous comedians that werent as funny and used the REAL "F" word many times when it was totally not needed.

(Just the mention of the "F" word in reference to the bodily function of gas has me giggling hysterically.)

Its starting to feel like jokes are going to be on the "do not mention" list along with politics and religion.

There are so many more things to be serious about in this world.

I agree with criner - I was going to email the whole set of articles to three people for the good info until I read these jokes. Now I won't. 8 out of 10 are degrading to women and put a sour taste in my mouth so to speak. If you've ever been an abused woman in any manner you know what I mean. It makes me sad that Dr Mercola has this sense of humor - he has so much more to offer Diane Schrum RD

Criner is right on some jokes. Let kids be kids. Don't make them grow up to fast.

Personally I did not like the F joke. I don't like to see or hear it and I don't use it myself. My family knows better than to use it around me.

Some editing of your joke collection should be done before being posted and not someone with the lack of character a HIghphyler.

If laughter is the best medicine, then I am surely being healed!! I especially liked "massive internal fart" and "bedridden".

(Note to "criner": Please lighten up; if you think your teenagers might be offended by these stories, you are way out of touch with the present young generation.)
