What: Action Event: Ron Paul Penguin and Polar Bear Sign Wave in Arlington Heights

When: Saturday, December 29, 11:00 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Who should come: This is going to the a rally/social event before the Iowa caucuses. This event is to have fun first and foremost. Give us time to network, and enjoy the fruits of all our hard work in IL. We had twenty people last week, we expect 40-100 people.

Why: Meet lots of other RP supporters. Positive reactions from people driving by, show everyone the size of RP's support, and most importantly, bring more and more people on board with a candidate that's truly different.

Event Description: (from Carl)

Ok,

Agenda is simple. The area is not big at all. We are going to make Miracles happen Saturday. We are going to put our voice out there for IL, and before the big Iowa kickoff. Do one last big rally for 2007! Remember this is your event.

11am-Noon- Everyone stays @ Rand and Palatine. Do introductions, network, talk to new folks, and make new friends.

Noon to 2pm- Groups no smaller than 10 people venture to the other corners of the triangle. Which are Rand and Arl Hts, and Palatine and Arl Hts. (Need volunteers to help lead folks, and shutdown)

2pm to 2:30pm- Come back to Rand and Palatine.

2:30-3:00pm Group pictures, news from Campaign, you pick up Ron Paul slimjims, signs, shwag, etc.

3pm- Maybe go to olive garden, and we grow this bigger the week after. Have this event at 3-5 more locations in the Chicagoland area @ the sametime. I need people to lead/setup other intersections. Lets meet if you want to lead one!

More detail below.

We will meet at the SouthEast intersection of Rand and Palatine @ 11am. We should have plenty of signs, so dont worry. IF your going to bring a sign, make it personal. Bring your reasons why you support Ron Paul. Be creative. Show your heart on your sleeve. Have fun expressing yourself. Be respectful.

From 11am to Noon, we will just focus on the first point of the triangle. Everyone should stay around that corner for the first hour. This is the time break the ice with the other meetup folks. We all love freedom, and last week I had many wonderful conversations with new folks. That is what makes it fun. smile

Also

Reason why I dont want folks venturing off right away. I dont want folks alone. We need to stay in decent size groups. The media says we are "loners", & "kooks". We need to show community this time around. I figure 40 folks this time will show up. I bet I am very suprised on how many will. :)

So around noon, we can then break off into smaller groups and move out. 10 go west on Palatine & Arl Hts, 10 go NW on Rand & Arl Hts. They are very close, its a 1 min walk from main interestion. We get more than 40 people, we fill in the gaps. Simple as that.

I do need folks to help lead others

Round up folks before,

walk them over to the intersection, setup folks on each corner,

make sure folks have what they need,

walk them back,

make sure we dont leave anything behind, no litter please. (Dont want bad press, fines, etc,)

Stay with someone if they need help, call one of us to come pick you up if its needed.

Let me know you want to help on this.

Around 2pm, everyone starts back, we rally again on Rand and Palatine. Then on the SE corner we take group pictures. I will be walking around taking video, and picutres during the event. please do the same.

After that, if folks want to help plan the week after, and willing to setup in a different location, we will be doing the same here in Arl Hts till then. I figure if we can get 3-5 @ the same time in different areas going each week before the 2.5.07 primary, we can make a difference here in IL.

Ron Paul is a Looneytarian running for president, and his brand of politics stands well outside the American mainstream, which is revealed, clearly, in his legislative record. (dneiwert.blogspot.com/.../ron-pauls-record-in-congress.html) Here are some examples: 1. He would deny the use of the Federal court system -- and even Federal precedent -- to people discriminated against because of their religious beliefs or sexual orientation. 2. He has tried to repeal the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 3. He would deny the prevailing wage to employees of federal contractors, and remove prohibition on kickbacks in Federal projects, and opposes the Minimum Wage, 4. He would repeal significant portions of antitrust law, including the Sherman Antitrust Act, the Clayton Antitrust Act, and others, 5. He would promote offshore oil-drilling, the construction of more refineries, coal-mining on Federal lands, and block conservation measures. This would further threaten our coastal and internal environments, and further trap our economy in fossil-fuel dependency. 6. He would end U.S. participation in the United Nations. Failing that he would prohibit or severely curtail appropriations for U.S. payments to the U.N. or its affiliated agencies. Please note that isolationism is not the same as anti-imperialism.

While some on this board may find these facts a cuase to celebrate, surely those of you who are disenfranchised with you party -GOP or Dem- might reconsider. Ron Paul is a Looneytarian.

That is what sets Ron Paul apart, that he believes in us, maybe more than we believe in ourselves. I have seen what Ron Paul supporters have been able to achieve with little or no direction and it has inspired me and restored my faith in individual effort and self determination and the human spirit. We can make a difference if left alone to do so. He has had an enormous effect on me already. I am voting for Ron Paul because I believe we need someone in the White House who will bring out the best in us and in turn offer his best to us. I thank God everyday for bringing Ron Paul into my life.

Whilst I certainly do agree with many of the issues Mr Paul stands by, I have a great concern over his stance on a woman's Right to Choose. It took a long time, many terrible back-street abortionists and great heartache to gain this right.

I am greatly concerned that Mr Paul - although fairly "liberal" in many areas - is staunchly against the Right to Choose.

My opinion about him is this. About all the other candidates have pretty much the same ideas for what to do to fix our current problems. They are the same basic things polititions have been putting forth the past several decades and things in my opinion are not changing for the better. At least Ron Paul has some new ideas which seem like if they were implemented slowly and in a proper way, could cause some beneficial change in this country for almost everyone.

On two occasions I've expressed my support for Ron Paul's stance on the Constitution while also expressing my considered opinion that he would make for an awful president. That opinion has earned lots of thumbs down. On this particular thread, it appears to have gotten far more negative votes than any other message...by far.

Let me suggest something to those who support RP due to his views on the Constitution. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of constitutional scholars in the US. it's a pretty safe bet, that almost every one of them, if not all of them, are wholly unqualified to become president of the US.

Becoming and being President requires an additional skill set. One must be masterful at that skill set as well.

RP is a fine example of someone who doesn't have the skill set. Instead of being authoritative, he speaks like a rabbit on a string. So while you might like his ideas, the guy is not a skilled communicator. He makes GWB look like Cicero...that's how bad RP is.

RP just does not have the leadership qualities worthy of the White House...far from it. Quite frankly, he stinks at it. It is that poor ability that had him blurt out that the 911 War was the responsibility of 19 thugs. A president just can't make that kind of utterly stupid, blinkered comment. On a scale of 1 to 10, his remark is something that would be laughed at in a tavern, let alone in any serious setting.

RP just isn't equipped for the job. Yes, he can become an advocate for returning to the Constitution. I welcome him in that capacity. For goodness sakes we DO need to return to it!

But don't make the mistake in thinking that because Ron Paul loves the Constitution, he ought to therefore be elected President of the United States.

He doesn't.

It's not even a close call. He is a horrendous choice.

The housing problem started back in 1974, before 1974 when a family went to buy a home ,the banks only counted the head of household as breadwinner, the wife could quit her job when ever she felt like it ie.having a baby. A law was passed in 1974 stating the banks must now start counting the husband and wife as breadwinners. I sold my home in 1974 ,I paid 12000$ for this home in1969, after 5 years I thought it was worth 15000$ because I really fix it up. The realtor told me and my wife ,you can sell your home for 25000$, because now you have two breadwinners walking in your front door. From 1974 to 1980 the price of a home went up four times directly because of that LAW. Now look at the price of homes,it is plan stupid, now the mother must work to afford a home, and who is home raising children( no body).

There will always be those who criticize the brave and thoughtful creators of a better existence. To them I say, your ignorance will bear you little fruit, when your children are doomed to a planet bereft of the gifts that you have so indiscriminately devoured, leaving nothing but ash in your waste! “A people who trade liberty for security deserve neither.” “In Life there is nothing to fear, only understand.” “Life is not an eternal search for God: it is an eternal expression of God.” Brave ones, go forth into the unkown. This is why I call myself a Realist Idealist. I know the best is possible, yet I am also aware of our current situation.

re: Libertarians -- A Force to Be Reckoned With

PART ONE

Okay so tell me if this reeks of too much complaining, yet in a nutshell this is how I see the situation. With lot's of love PW "All things have fears, but the brave put down those fears and go forth, sometimes to death...but always to Victory." Also, Tacitus once said, "the more corrupt the State, the more numerous the Laws." I feel that America, Britain and many other countries have gone way too far into a Police state. Our histories have shown us that the only way the people ever get rights and freedoms is through blood and tears. Those hard won freedoms are easily stripped away and only possible to get back through revolution. Our laws allow the rich to steal, rob, and kill for their hordes of blood money. Yet someone who sells herb's to support their starving family gets at least 4 years in prison and slapped with a felony that will pretty much guarantee that they will never get a good job. We have Cigarettes and Alcohol legal but herb is not! People are just cattle, even though these truths are self evident, that mass corporate power is quickly gathering it's strength for a unified world Mega Corporation that will rule the world. People look away knowing in their heart of hearts that they are dooming their future generations to an endless cacophony of suffering and slavery. If history has taught us anything, it's that *** floats to the top on the coattails of genius and then kills the goose that has laid the golden egg. So many people credit the power elite with our countries success, yet all they have done is to surround themselves with brilliant people to do everything for them. The power Elite have built us a gilded cage, giving us the illusion of freedom while in reality centering our lives around that which makes the world go round. We spend our existence chasing the corporate dollar and in reality we just turn the wheel to their blood machine. It is time to go forth with courage as our guardians have done before us.

re: Libertarians -- A Force to Be Reckoned With

PART TWO.. HERES TO YOU SHIVA

You may hear people say, "Our nature is war, our nature is to kill and rob and steal and lie, we are essentially evil" And I would say okay, but is not the opposite true? It is self evident that everything is in our nature. That is the power of choice, we choose what we are, and we literally create our own reality together and separate! All the time you hear people blaming God for this blaming God for that and my only response is this. We live in a Universe of supreme Love. Everything is Love, yet in order to understand that love we must as spirits, enter a reality that has loves opposite in order to experience what we truly are. Without Hate how could we thrive with the essence of courage? Without Fear how could we truly Love? Without Pain how could we know pleasure? Without Sorrow where would we experience Bliss? Without Greed how could we experience Generosity? Without Illness who would know the joy of being a Healer? Universal being is perfect in Harmony with all things. It is only Human Perception that is flawed and cannot grasp the perfection of what is. Yet in a way it is meant to be like this. For without great challenges how could we obtain the Glory that is our most Sacred Quest? We as people, deep in our souls all desire Glory of an ultimate nature, we all feel our quests calling. Most people have simply been conditioned to ignore this and accept society’s reality. This is the greatest Irony, we know so little but believe that we are all there is, what could possibly be beyond? "Our perception of Death is like a horizon, and like a horizon it only goes as far as the eyes can see, but we all know there is more beyond, we have only forgotten this fact," And with that I am out.
