Some people are missing a crucial point, whatever you think about 911. It cannot be denied a massive power grab has taken place: power was removed from the public and placed in the hands of big government, that being the federal government. There are only a few candidates that are willing to change that. Those are Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, and Ralph Nader. Oh, and Leonard Peltier, and the Libertarian Candidate that will be on the national ballot, my candidate may not win due to his opposition of the system, in which case, I'll vote for Peltier . Have any of you read the laws passed by the last Congress (2001-2006)? Think about "secret evidence". Think about unwarranted home searches where no one has to be informed. Think about the accused "having no rights to see the evidence against them, to protest in court the reason for their detention or to see their attorney", think about privacy between client and attorney. I can't remember for sure, but they may have even secured the "right" to plant evidence which can be used to convict the "accused".

As to my knowledge, they have already convicted an attorney for terrorism related charges because of her protecting her client, her name is Lynn ? Yet, they haven't had one legitimate conviction from Guantanimo or any terrorist, they've had a couple plea bargains only. Folks, this is not the America I know and love. It's quickly developing into a police state which currently parallels Nazi Germany of 1936.

The good thing is that society always trumps government, which must be since society came before government. Remember, defend your neighbor. I remember Cheney was on a Sunday News show back in 2002 or early 2003, He said, "... oh yeah, terrorist are everywhere in this country. People better check their neighbors". Yeah right.

Speaking of voting, I've been wanting to give my opinion of this 'Vital Votes' system here. Since you’re left with a 'net result', you never know what the overall interest is in a post. A positive score of 1 point could mean ONE person liked it -- OR it could mean that 100 people liked it and 99 people didn't!!!

Something just feels un-democratic, un-American or un-‘something’ about this. I really cannot comprehend what possible {positive} purpose it serves. Someone please enlighten me!!!

P.S. Just think what it would be if we used a system like this at the polls!

I'm a Canadian from near Toronto, Ontario. The Ron Paul video is interesting in several ways. First, I notice he breathes like a COPD pt and I wonder what his medical history is like. Second, he dropped a comment about protecting 30 billion dollars worth of oil with 40 military bases in the middle east. Third, he makes the distiction between "protectionism" and "interventionism"

It blows my mind that my beloved neighbours to the south will piss away 400 billion dollars (and counting), plus thousands of lives (and counting) to protect a measly 30 billion in specialty oil interests. If you guys had spent that coin on R & D for energy alternatives, the rest of the world would be SCRAMBLING to get a piece of the action. A fraction of that would have set up universal health care. You could have had a program in place to relocate everyone threatened by rising sea levels, or a program for infrastructure replacement. (The list goes on.) And I suspect that if you spent Another 400 billion on this stuff, the prosperity it would create would wipe out the massive debt the well-oiled war machine has manoeuvered you into.

It's time for the people on the street to get Really, Really Mad at the arms and oil industries, who are Sucking You Dry, while creating the self-perpetuating need for homeland protection. The two things that you Americans have always done right is that you have it set up so that bad politicians can't stay in office forever and, most importantly, eventually you Always do the right thing.

Ron Paul is the first canidiate I made a donation to. There are a lot of arguments on both sides, yet none hold water against Ron Paul do far. Abortion, Schools, etc, what right does the government have to tell the people what to do in matter such as these?

No Kid Left Behind is a joke. With a daughter that has a mind handicapp, I can tell you, all kids are left behind, especially these. Since the government has taken over our schools look at our kids. Kids today are book smart but dumb as a coal bucket in all but what they have been told. Smart enough to run the machines, yet too dumb to revolt. Then again, look through the malls.

If you really want to know what's going on, turn off your TV, turn off the radio (it will take about 1-2 weeks for the deprogramming to lapse). Trust me, you will come through withdraws like a druggie, but you will live, maybe for the 1st time.

Research Eugenitics if you would like to see a lot of what is wrong with people, not to mention who belongs to it. Bill Gates gave a big contribution to Planned Parenthood, read about the people that started it, not what one might think. Global Warming, Seed Bank (being built). A whole new world is planned, any you ain't in it folks.

I have seen the Amero, yes it is designed already. Ask why Bushm Cheney, Gates, and a host of other tyrants are taking their money FROM the dollar and into the EURO. Ask about what China calls the Nucleur Option against the US, it is not bombs. Ask why failure Dr. Jarvic is promoting Lipitor. Ask why is it animals, unless forced will not eat GM Foods, and what happens (really) when they do. Ask why we can give a 100 year old man an errection, yet will not allow real cancer, hiv, and diabetes cures. Voting for Ron Paul may prevent Word War III. An attack on Iran is an attack on both Iran and Russia. and China too. Remember that Russia still has many nuclear weapons and shares the Caspian sea area with Iran. China also has a large military with nuclear weapons and is heavily involved in Iran due to oil.

thank god for the recent heavy investment deal between China and Iran. This recent deal is what put a major block in the Bush nazi plan to attack Iran. Hopefully this will keep the peace until we can get either Ron Paul or some other sane person into the oval office.

I know this is really off topic but here I go... My wife is Russian and her Green Card was denied. We tried to reopen the case but after 5 months of waiting they refused to reopen her case. The reason I am writing this here is that there are a lot of really smart open-minded people on this website and I know someone out there at the very least has some good suggestions. However I am already making my game plan on how to live a healthy life in Russia. Does anyone know specifics about how healthy their food is? I have drilled my wife on this but she is not familiar with that vast conspiracy of poisons our governments and corporations throw at us!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you all Love and Peace...

Hold on one second Swami, I am very appreciative for all the intelligent people here. It give me hope for America, really it does! However calling Environmental Organizations bad and wanting to drill in the Arctic are totally ridiculous. I lived in Alaska for 9 years and the only reason we have ANY old growth forest or fresh fish LEFT AT ALL if because of conservation societies and Environmental protection agencies. For your information most of them are so underfunded that it takes individuals giving over mass amounts of free time and even suffering JAIL TIME AND SENTENCES to save our dying planet. If anything I say we need to increase our Environmental Laws by about 1000 fold... No kidding, it will be the only way our children’s children will be able to enjoy a healthy meaningfull life…think about it!

Truth, people. For anyone that believes everything they see on TV or hear from the mainstream media--wake up! You are being lied to and conditioned. Turn the TV off. Get online and do some research. Maybe you will find out why so many people are backing Ron Paul--and also why your school of thought is going to lose whether he is elected or not.

I think Ron Paul went to the Jimmy Carter School on stupid-foreign-relations-ideas and majored in "Lack of Reality" and graduated Suma-***-Laude.

I don't know where he was on September 11th, 2001.....but didn't some idiots fly civilian laden passenger airplanes into occupied BUILDINGS in America and kill thousands of people???

Ron Paul reminds me of Nader. Both of these people speak with passionless intensity. You have the feeling with both of them, that nothing "affects" them. They speak with a strange monotonousness; like automatons.

Interestingly, both of them refused to return funds to contributors, when Paul received contributions from White Supremacists, and Nader, from "corporate" republicans, both defending their motives on the grounds that "it wasn't where the money came from, but how you used it."

I couldn't take Paul seriously, in any case, since he opposes a woman's "right to choose." One thing is sure, he has little chance of becoming president, but, in view of the money he's raising, and unless he spends all of it on his campaign, he'll end up the wealthiest losing candidate in U. S. history.
