Umm...does anyone know what happened to the video? I wanted to review it, but it seems to have gone away. This page is pretty old, now, so maybe these articles go away after a certain amount of time.

I'm not sure you can put Ron Paul in the same sentence as non-polluting. His platform says he believes in no gov. regulation; that property rights should rule the day. That if you pollute my property, I can sue you to stop. It does not seem wise to me to trust the corporations to do the "right thing." Besides, air isn't owned by anyone, it's a public domain, hence clean air and water regulation are going to have to be managed by government and we are going to have to PREVENT!! the pollution, not be in litigation for years while the pollution continues. I think his written stand on the environment leaves a lot to be desired. I don't like regulation, but I don't see any other way to protect the environment from greedy, short sighted interests.

I agree with you Yarrow, I also don't understand how so many people attack Government and defend corporations. Corporations are by far the biggest culprit to 90% of negative manifestations in our country. Just like so many people are brainwashed into believing everything the medical industry has to say, they also believe anyone who understands the chain of Corporate devils and points them out are socialists.

Most of the brainwashing is done by Corporations, who benefits most from the sickness of our nation? Corporations.

Who makes the most money out of war?

Corporations.

Who loves it when you ignore that your products are made by CHILD SLAVER?

Corporations.

Who brainwashes you more than anyone else with T.V.? Lies? Life killing addictive foods?

Corporations.

Who has control of the Government and is forcing most of its negative actions in the world?

Corporations.

Who causes most of the pollution in the world and then convinces everyone it’s not a problem?

Corporations.

But this is all just Socialist ravings right? Wrong, I care more for humanity than most and blaming a Government that is not even in control of itself is like trying to cure Disease with Antibiotics. WE NEED TO FIND AND HEAL THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM, NOT PROTECT IT!

What many fail to realize is that we really are not trying to shrink the Government, although I think that is a good thing... What we really want to do is shrink the Corporations.

This is an on point Analogy if you really want to look at people. We are like the microorganisms in our own Body. What we are doing to the planet is really what most negative organisms and viruses do. Thankfully a lot of us take on the role of White Blood Cells and Good Bacteria, but not nearly enough. We are literally harvesting our own Karma with what we are doing to the Planet. Ever notice that the healthier you get the better you treat your environment? Think there might be a Connection?

Sounds like Socialism. I own a small business and if people didn't shop, me and most of my friends would not have an income. What do you suggest we all do for a living? I thought the backbone of America was the small business. sounds like she and all the other people that loved this video should live somewhere else.

I had a chance to read through many of the comments about this video. It's a terrific way to reach out to each other and share our ideas and thoughts about what we all saw. It's refreshing to read about people who go out of their way to recycle and make a difference in the world. It's wonderful to know that other people care about what is happening to our earth. I became discouraged, however, when I started to read about how people discounted the video right-out because of --facts, her ideology, etc.. This is a problem for ALL of us--how do we all figure out a way to dialogue to come up with ways to address the problem without simply labeling one another and getting mad, calling each other names, etc..How do we identify the problem, come up with various solutions and work together towards solving the problem. How can "socialists" work together with "conservative republicans" to make the world a better place? Sound too idealistic? It is the only way it will happen. I would encourage anyone--before you call someone else a name (no matter how justified you feel)--ask yourself WHY it is so difficult to accept what that person is saying, what angers you about what they are saying. Don't simply discount it--it is too easy to so that. Find out more and start a dialogue--we can't afford to ignore each other. We ALL need to listen to one another.

In my opinion, this video is well done even if you don't believe all of her facts. Most of what she talks about it right on and this scenario she so clearly describes (in my opinion) is what we need to figure out because it fuels everything that happens in our world----socially, politically, etc...As far as government--all of us need some type of government--and some more than others at various times in their lives. Think about how FDR's programs helped people get back on their feet after the depression...who funds roads? who pays for schools. We can't carve govt out of the equation completely--no more space....;)

This video makes a person think ~ What do we want and what do we need. Even if you eat right, how much are you really getting from your food with the depletion of our soil, air pollution, etc.? Recycling is Great, living green is great. To make a lot of the changes we need to we would have to get rid of our bad stuff and then replace it. For those of you who think government or cooperations don't have a negative effect on the system think of this...I know a company who has developed the technology to take the "stuff" in the landfills and turn it into energy, even non-biodegradable "stuff". This would be a huge way to help in all of the areas addressed in this video. They have not been able to break through the political wall or have the power and money the corporations do to get things done. Has anyone heard much about this, even with all the election talk? Not too mention places like Las Vegas and Phoenix have been some of the fastest growing cities in the US for years and have not had to use solar power, build community pools vs. every home having a pool, etc. Did you know many stores give a few cents off for using a real cup or cotton bag instead of disposable ones? Most people don't and the companies are in no hurry to promote the &0.10 discount. There was a push in the 70's for many of the things people are talking about now, funny how people are acting like it is shocking new info.

World population 6,636,943,949 as of 05:48 GMT (EST+5) Dec 12, 2007

New York City has a population density of 26403 people per square mile.

The State of Texas has 268,601 square miles

Do the math!

If we put all the people in the whole world in the State of Texas we would have a population density of 4.074 people per square mile and the rest of the world would be EMPTY. Can we stop with the overpopulation myth please.

You might also want to do some reading/research on the European countries that have been below replacement so long they are paying people to have children in hopes of saving their nations.

This is great. I only buy my nephews savings bond for their birthdays and holidays but this year I'm more on a budget so that won't be happening. Does anyone have any good ideas on what I can do with them or make for them? I have some money to spend, just not $150. We don't live near a city where I can take them to a homeless shelter or anything like that.

Wow! ! ! It is nice to know that there is someone out there that thinks like I do. Most people we know look at us as though we have a third eye. We live a very simple life. We make our own bread, can, dehydrate, garden, raise our own meat and eggs, make our own soap, and most cloths. Reuse our clothes if they are in good shape. Turn old clothing into "other stuff" (like stuff our dog beds with them etc...) rarely eat out. My husband does the grocery shopping after he gets off of work from what is on sale and we purchase very little in the way of already prepared foods. We make everything from scratch. We make our own cheese from our goat milk. We use mostly vinegar, baking soda and sometimes bleach for cleaning. We don't buy things in plastic if we can avoid it. We reuse cardboard as a mulch for our garden or for carbon for the compost pile. We get our news paper from my husbands work and then use it in the compost pile or for mulch for the garden (worms love news paper) We have been this way for over 26 years and are always looking for ways to cut back. We go shopping AFTER Christmas for only the things that we need (usually lower in cost at that time) We make mustards, jams, breads, for Christmas gifts. We and our children buy animals for people and support a missionary through Gospel for Asia. They give 100% of any donation to the mission field. You can buy goats, cows, chickens (many other animals) well, bikes, sewing machines( many other helpful items to support and give the people of the 10/40 window a better way of life. The people that work for GFA have to get funding from outside sourses to be able to work there. We think Christmas should be a time to spend with our children and friends without all the trapings for "shopping"

My hat is off to Annie Leonard for the work she has done. I thought she did an excellent job.

Anyone living in the city or on a farm can do "A LOT" to change the way they are comsumers.

Interesting video. It took a long time to load and some of it was choppy. I have a different take on global preservation. Man can only go so far to preserve and maintain this earth. If you are looking at this subject from a Biblical standpoint like I am, we are living in a "fallen" and "deteriorating" physical environment. While man should be prudent about his resources he has been blessed with, we can't turn back time or reverse the damage done. It is only a matter of time and according to the Bible this earth and mankind will be done for. I agree with several other postings that this video content was politically slanted. There was a huge emphasis that the U.S. should be blamed for the majority of our global woes. What about other wasteful nations? OH! They don't have any $$$$ so we'll just ignore their waste and polution. That's why they get a pass. It's not about the environment - really - instead it's about taking money from whereever they can get it. America has money so we'll just blame everything on them and try to guilt them into paying for everyone else. I, for one, have had enough.
