A 3:1 ratio of omega 6 to omega 3, ( I believe the ratio of 1:1 would be found in brain tissue) Unlike Flax, which is heavily weighted on the Omega 3 side, hemp is in perfect balance. Flax, is perfect for restoring a fatty acid dificiency, if ground and eaten straight from seed; and hemp is perfect for maintaining balance.

We should all be trying to eliminate the need for expensive fish oils, life should not have to be this complicated; if you want to save money the hemp seed is for you.....Another advantage of the hemp seed is that it contains 2.5% stearidonic acid SDA, which your body can use to produce EPA..and not only do you get EFA's from hemp seed you also get fibre, minerals, vitamins, enzymes, chlorophyll, and protein; ....they are abundant in the sulphur containing amino acids methionine and cysteine, but unlike dairy, beef, fish, eggs etc, the Hemp seed is very easily digested, they are awsome....The Hemp Seed is King....

Not the monetary cost, which seems to be the primary interest of certain well paid scientist and, thus, certain doctors. I'm talking about the environmental cost.

Humans are depleting the oceans at an alarming rate, much beyond legal allowances and restrictions, and with methods of harvesting that are devastating to the entire habitat and food chain, greatly reducing ocean diversity and sustainability. We've determined through sound science that it is unhealthy to eat the larger predators up the food chain because of toxic levels of mercury as well as other harmful heavy metals and chemicals, so now we're targeting smaller species in the chain. Do a little research and you'll find that the population of planktons and krill have significantly decreased in the last two decades (which has been correlated to increased ocean temperatures), and these species are critical for feeding not only fish but a great number of other species. Whales, seals, penguins, sea birds, to name a few. Despite this knowledge, certain individuals have decided to harvest the already dwindling population of krill and squeeze them for their precious oils because it's good for human consumption and might increase health and longevity.

Therefore, my question is... Is it ethical for humans to consume krill oil when so many other species are standing in line before us?

Ethically, I think not!

The process also involves heating the oil to high temperatures to remove the PCB's, etc. SInce I learned this I have been taking a product from Vital Choice call Salmon oil which they claim is pure, unprocess and unrefind....does anyone one have any suggestions regarding this matter?
