However, I didn't like being overweight...and seemed to be on a perpetual diet. Not until I got off the grains and the dairy...did my weight drop off.

Did you know that eating the wrong food damages the organs in the body? When this happens...you wind up needing the high protein foods, which helped contribute to this. The pancreas can't handle the sugar in fruit...or some vegetables...because it isn't functioning right. The starch in grains turns into sugar and further stresses the pancreas. This has caused many people to turn to animal protein, because they can't handle fruit...which is the natural food of mankind. We started in a hot climate...not in the far north.

If people had been eating the right natural foods...primarily raw...they would have no trouble handling them. Few eat this way.

I met one man who had been eating this way, since he was 16...and he was the picture of health at 50.

He had a full head of healthy hair. No gray. No glasses. He had a 28" waist. He also entered physique contests and won against men thirty years younger.

How did he eat? Fruit all day long, whenever he was hungry...and an ultra large salad with lots of greens and other vegetables for dinner.

If you can't eat this way...your organs aren't functioning right. The cheese and meat can keep you going, but will eventually break the body down. They are acid forming foods - and when they get into the blood stream - in order to keep the proper PH Balance - calcium is leached out of the bones in order to neutralize it

Some time ago in your newletter you were reseaching the possibility of taking grape pomace as a nutritional supplement instead of drinking wine.

Here is the quote;

While red wine is shown to provide some great health benefits, I do not advocate drinking red wine at all as I am convinced that the alcohol itself is actually a poison and will unbalance your hormones. I am looking into using grape pomace. Grape pomace, a by-product of winemaking and is loaded with resveratrol and many other polyphenolic bioflavanoids and antioxidants. To the best of my knowledge it is not commercially available.

Do you have any update for us on your research?

Frederick vom Saal, a biologist at the University of Missouri-Columbia said decision by the federal panel charged with assessing the safety of a common household chemicals, was absurd!

(While fetuses don’t eat), “anything in maternal blood will freely cross the placenta. And unless the chemical is immediately cleared out of the mother's system, which it isn't, that blood will go immediately to the baby," said Dr. Frederick vom Saal. In addition, fetuses and newborns lack, or express at low levels, the liver enzyme that deactivates the chemical..."Pediatricians will tell you, babies are not little adults. They do not process chemicals the same way adults do."

To demonstrate this, vom Saal and fellow researchers Wade Welshons and Juliet Taylor exposed 3-day-old female mice to bisphenol A. They separated the mice into four groups.

Two groups were exposed to the chemical through the mouth - one group received a high dose, the other a low dose. Two other groups received injections - again, one high and one low.

Animals were killed at intervals over the next 24 hours, and concentrations of bisphenol A in the blood were measured.

The team found no difference between animals that had received the chemical orally or via injection.

"It wasn't just that there was no difference," said vom Saal. "It was exactly the same."

Vom Saal said that both people and rodents have this particular enzyme, and in both cases, fetuses and newborns do not express it at the same level as adults.

This new research has the potential to upset the panel's findings, said Gail Prins, a researcher at the University of Illinois at Chicago who has been critical of the panel's report.

The bottom line

She said that what really matters in these studies is the concentration of biologically active bisphenol A in the blood, irrespective irrespective of how it got there. ..

Scientists rebut federal finding on baby safety

By SUSANNE RUST

Jan. 22, 2008

...In a paper released online this month in the journal Reproductive Toxicology, a team of researchers at the University of Missouri published a study that strikes at the core of the panel's findings on bisphenol A, a chemical found in baby bottles and the linings of food cans.

The researchers have shown that the panel's decision to disregard dozens of studies in which animals were exposed to the chemical via injections, instead of through the mouth or stomach, was specious. And they are calling on the government to re-evaluate, or dismiss, the panel's conclusions.

In November, the Center for the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction released a report on bisphenol A that minimized concern about the chemical after reviewing more than 700 studies published over the past 30 years.

Hundreds of studies have shown that this chemical can cause a host of maladies, including breast cancer, testicular cancer, diabetes, hyperactivity, obesity, low sperm counts and miscarriage in laboratory animals. The chemical has been detected in 93% of Americans tested.

In December, the Journal Sentinel found that the panel's report, written by 12 scientists appointed by the National Institute of Environment Sciences, gave more weight to industry-funded studies and more leeway to industry-funded researchers. The newspaper found that the panel missed dozens of studies publicly available that the newspaper found online using a medical research Internet search engine...

Studies ignored

Another study, funded by the National Institutes of Health, showed that mice exposed in utero had a higher propensity to have prostate lesions than animals that were not exposed... [Considered insignificant by the panel.]

When I lived in southern California, years ago, I drank hundreds of gallons of raw cow's milk, and ate raw butter, raw cream, raw cottage cheese, raw other kinds of cheese, and raw kefir from Alta-Dena Dairy, and except for the mucous, was very healthy. I also drank raw goat's milk ,preferable to cow's milk when I was able to obtain it. Now I buy the 'Organic Pastures' raw dairy products in the health food store since living on the central coast of Ca. Sorry to say, I consume a lot of pasturized dairy as well (cheese, half-and half, yogurt ). I have found the best way to dissolve the gluey mucous from the casein in the cow product is...lots of raw onions and garlic! I kid you not.

But like Barbara says, each species nurses their offspring from the breastmilk nature provided them with, and, in a way, it is odd that we domesticate animals to drink their milk after our weaning period is over, but then again, in my view, killing animals and eating their flesh is un-natural as well as cruel.

We'd all be a lot healthier drinking freshly made raw vegetable and fruit juices as Dr. Walker suggests.

Again, I believe it depends on quality and quantity of all we consume, as well as our attitude. You may not like this, but I've seen some healthy people who also smoke cigarettes but have a more natural diet with an abundance of fresh foods than many non-smokers who eat more processed and cooked foods.

The tumor never came back.

Why did it happen? Perhaps, it is because I was getting too much protein/fat from the dairy. People don't realize that our protein standards in this country are far too high. We only need to eat 25-35 grams of protein daily...and many Americans are eating over 100 grams daily.

4 ounces of cheese contain anywhere from 24 grams to 32 grams of protein. If this were the only food with protein that Americans ate...it would be sufficeint for the day. A quart of milk contains 32 grams of protein. However, every food contains protein, even fruit and vegetables...so over the course of a day it adds up.

When I stopped nursing my baby, I put him on raw goat's milk. He thrived on it. The composition of goat's milk is far superior to that of cow's milk. However, adults really don't need the extra protein or extra calories that come from drinking it. We have a problem of obesity in this country...and my weight is normal at 118 lbs.

Today, I eat animal protein occasionally. I buy the best eggs available...or wild salmon, when it is in season...or grass grazed lamb from New Zealand...but don't eat it on a regular basis. If you kept a food journal like I do...you would see that on every day you ate animal protein along with the other foods in your diet...you would be going over your protein limit...which causes the PH Balance to become more acidic and leaches minerals, such as, calcium out of your bones.

I have been studying nutrition, since 1961...and at 70 got up and did the LA Marathon in 2004, without training for it. I mainly ate fruits and vegetables for the year preceding it. It was a 90 degree day and it took me over 8 hours to do it...but I got a Finisher's Medal.

October 1995: My urologist at the University of Wisconsin finds my PSA is abnormally high for my age. He does a trans-rectal ultrasound biopsy and diagnoses me with prostate cancer. I am shocked! He wants to schedule a prostatectomy (prostate removal). I instinctively recoil and go into research mode. I find that, after this very invasive procedure, most men are impotent and incontinent. I refuse his treatment and decide to live out what ever number of days I have left as a whole man. My doctor gets mad at me.

Fall of 1995: I dig in and study everything I can find on PC. The natural health approach is my answer. It really resonates with me on both a logical and intuitive level. I decide on a routine of positive visualization, meditation, deep breathing, sleep, exercise (stretch, strength, and cardio), nutrition, and reduced fat and stress. Specific nutrients: Flor Essence, ginger, saw palmetto, selenium, zinc, Shaklee's multiple, lycopene, and soy products like protein powder and tempeh. I learned that PC cannot grow in the presence of ginger.

1996: My PSA starts to drop. My irate urologist is puzzled and frustrated with me. "Never saw PSA's drop without treatment."

1997: My PSA is totally normal. My urologist can only say that I must be in "remission" for some reason. I quit seeing him.

1998: After a major trauma, I become absorbed in Eastern thought, and start a decade long study program.

2002: I am also so intrigued by the natural health approach that at age 59 I enroll in a distance learning program for a PhD in Natural Health through Clayton College (CCNH.EDU)

2005: I publish the first book in my trilogy on Eastern Thought - "Taoism" ("Buddhism" out this year & "Zenism" next) BBOTW.COM

Fall 2007: PSA is as normal as ever. I had over a dozen years with my fully functional prostate i.e. not impotent or incontinent.

Morals: Always think for your self! The application of the right knowledge is power.

I would suffice it to say, that if drinking goats milk [which most of the worlds longest lived people drink daily] gave you cancer or tumour growths, mankind would have stopped drinking it centuries ago. I just don't believe it. In any event, I'm glad to see you are at least pro-active in your health and seem to know what's best for you, many people just don't care about their health at all. Glad to see you are well again.

What is cow's milk for? It is for the 500 lb growth of a baby calf...its first 9 months of life.

What is human milk for? It is for the 14 lb growth of a human infant...its first 12 mos of life.

Each species has specific needs. Each species has its own specific milk for its body and brain growth,

when the infant of the species has no teeth and can't eat solid food.

The excess protein in cow's milk can trigger off problems in the human species. I learned the hard way in 1976. I was a total vegetarian and doing great while pregnant...until six weeks before the birth of my child...a nutritionist told me that I needed to start using lots of dairy so I would be able to nurse my baby.

I didn't think to question him. I should have asked if this is what cow's do who are going to calve. Do cow's drink milk from other cows in order to produce milk. NO! They should be grazing on lots of grass and drinking plenty of water.

I took his advice...and started drinking raw milk and eating unpasteurized cheese...in 3 months I had a lemon-sized tumor...and 2 doctors told me that they would give me no guarantees, unless I had it surgically removed. Well, I told the 2nd one that I was going to go home and pray. I was told not to pray too long. However, I did pray and Dr. Norman Walker's book on Raw Fruits and Raw Vegetables came into my hands...and I went totally raw for almost 3 months...before going back to the 2nd doctor to show him that the tumor was gone. It never came back, because I didn't go back to eating dairy.

Don't tell me about raw dairy. I learned that it was not the way to go.
